Great ball game. Neither team had a big lead. I think Estill lead by like 7 at different times and Lee lead by like 4 or 5. Estill lead 63-57 with under a minute to go in the first OT and came back to tie it.....Trevor Jenkins lead Estill with 29 points including 5 3's I think. Tyler Evans lead Lee with 23 points. Estill had 2 players (best players) foul out while Lee had 0. Lee I swear get's some of the best luck I have ever seen. In the JV game, Estill was leading 44-43, their was a scramble next to the baseline, a Lee County player get's it turns and throws it up and hits nothing but net. During the varsity game, Estill lead 63-59 with just a few seconds left, Clint Cox (I believe it was) hits a 3 then get's fouled and makes the free throw to tie up and send it to another OT.

Estill actually had a chance to win it in the second OT (I believe it was). Colby Baber was fouled on a 3 with 5 seconds left, goes to the line, makes the first 2 and the 3rd one goes in and out.

This district's been crazy this year, and most of the games have been close. Owsley beat Lee by 2 in Beattyville and lost to them by 4 in Booneville. Owsley lost to Estill by 4 in Irvine and play them in Booneville Friday. Owsley beat Powell 2 in Stanton and beat them by 4 in overtime in Booneville tonight. The other school's district games have been just as close. It's a tossup who wins the district tournament. It's just whoever brings it on the night they play. Should be a fun tournament this year.

Lee and Estill rivalry has turned into a hot one, no doubt about it. Looks like Estill vs. Powell and Lee vs. Owsley in district, right?

If Owsley beats Estill, will be three teams 4-2, so would depend on tie breaker.

If Owsley were to beat Estill by 5 or more then there would be a 3 way tie between Estill, Lee and Owsley with all having 4-2 records. But Lee holds the tiebreaker over Owsley but Estill holds the tiebreaker over Lee. Owsley would have the tiebreaker over Estill (of course the Owls would have to take care of business vs Estill Friday). It's confusing for sure.

Just made a call and discovered there is not tiebreaker on the point system if the 3 tied teams have all split games with one another during the season. That part of the tiebreaker is thrown out and it goes to a blind draw to see who is number 1. That scenario has happened once before, in the 2001 girls seeding. So, it really doesn't matter if Owsley wins by 1 over Estill Friday or by 20, it's still a 3 way tie and a blind draw.

I thought that if Estill had lost by 3 or less that they would be #1 because they would have the tiebreaker over both Lee and Owsley

It was explained to me today that if there is a 3 way tie where all the tied teams had split their season games with one another, then the point system is thrown out and the blind draw is used. That's how it was determined in the 2001 girls tournament when the same situation occurred.
