All "A" Favorites

I agree... they call it Class A tournament but with all of the CAtholic schools in there (with typically 4-8 feeder schools) I don't consider them class A the way it used to be when Stan Steidel started it in 1980. You get teams like HCross / NCC/ St. Henry in the 9th region and they just have too many kids from too many catholic grade schools/middle schools to choose from. How does a Ludlow (even this yr with the Penick kid and decent supporting cast), Bellevue, Dayton, etc how do they get to Eastern KY for the state tourney?

Brossart has 5 feeder schools. St Joe Camp Springs which graduates about 10-15 kids a year, along with St. Phillip. St Peter and Paul which graduates 20-30 a year, St. Joe's which graduates 50-60 a year, and St. Mary which graduates 45-55 a year. Their lucky if they get 3/4 of those kids. Brossart does it right with what they get. Of their starters this year, 4 of the 5 went to the same grade school.
