Powell County @ Lee County January 4th

Featured Replies

huge district game. Lee County defeated Powell County earlier in the season 83-79 in OT, the Pirates are looking to get some revenge. Lee County comes in at 8-5 overall, 4-3 in region, 1-2 in district, Powell County comes in at 5-9 overall, 2-6 in region, 0-3 in district. This is a must win for Powell County, if they lose, then it will most likely mean that they finish 4th in district seeding, they do not wanna be the forth seed having to face either Owsley County or Estill County in the first round of the district tournament. I will say that both Estill County and Owsley County more than likely will be in attendance for this one.

Professor, your thoughts on this huge district game?

Where is this game? Home court advantage can play a big part.

I think Lee County will win, somewhere around 5-7 points. Lee has been playing very good basketball lately, with wins over Ryle and Lawrence County. The Bobcats aren't a very big team but if their press is working and their shooters are on, they can be difficult to beat, especially in Beattyville.
