(1) Jermiah Terrill (Wolfe County), in a losing effort, Jermiah poured in 26 points for Wolfe County in a loss to Owsley County this past Tuesday. Jerimah is an 8th grader. Noah Shelby lead Owsley with 23.

(2) Wolfe County's entire team. Wolfe went into Letcher and about pulled a huge upset only losing by 1 when everyone thought they'd get blown out badly.

Injuries

None really to report, about the same.

Game of the Week

Lee County 83, Powell County 79 in double overtime. Lee County had their chances to win it at the end of regulation and end of 1st overtime but missed both shots. This game went back and forth, neither team wanted to give up but in the second overtime, Lee pulled away from Powell. The Bobcats outscored the Pirates 9-2 in the second OT but more importantly Lee goes to 1-2 in districts while Powell County goes to 0-2 (eventually 0-3 with loss to Estill) and Powell is the defending district champions.

Looks great. Love the games of the week we can watch for too. Great job!!!!!

I think the big thing in the14th this year is there are the top 3 teams, Hazard, Knott Central, and Perry Central (and there's not much difference between those 3), and then there's a noticeable gap between them and the rest of the region.

The big questions for this season are 'what if's'. What if Johnson becomes eligible at Perry Central. What if Olinger being back on Hazard's team after missing last season is as big of a boost to the Bulldogs as many expect. What if the graduated Zach Davis (who played well on the state tournament for Knott Central last March) will be a bigger hole to fill than some think. We should be getting some of these 'what if's' answered in the next few weeks, beginning this week with Hazard traveling to Knott Central to take on the Patriots.

That Hazard/KCC matchup is shaping up to be a good one. Anxious to see who comes out on top.
