December 7, 201213 yr The odyssey has ended. Here is the story from the Enquirer: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20121207/SPT0101/312070045 Thoughts?
December 7, 201213 yr Hard to blame him for taking the job. He got a raise, better facilities, and better resources ($$$$).
December 7, 201213 yr Hard to blame him for taking the job. He got a raise' date=' better facilities, and better resources ($$$$).[/quote'] Yup. Don't totally agree with how the last 5 days were handled, but the UT job was his end game all along and he got it...
December 7, 201213 yr Flipped on Tennessee sports talk. First call: "This is TC. I ain't happy with this harrrr." "What's his name? Butch Jones?"
December 7, 201213 yr Butch is thrilled Charlie said no. Otherwise' date=' he'd be in Boulder, CO.[/quote'] No doubt...
December 7, 201213 yr Author If all job changes were as public as head coaches in sports, it would be just as ugly. There just isn't a nice way to change jobs because you always look negative to the people at the company/job you left.
December 7, 201213 yr Josh Ward @Josh_Ward Caller on WNML: "Butch Jones has a 50-27 record. He's not even winning 50% of his games!" Hooray for math!
December 7, 201213 yr Chris Hatfield @_ChrisHatfield Butch Jones already more hated than Kiffin at UT? Guy hasn't stepped on campus and already getting bash by Vols fans. Good hire?
December 7, 201213 yr Mark Ennis @Mengus22 Butch Jones was 2-1 vs. Charlie Strong with the one loss coming on the road in overtime. But y'all keep being mad. #VFL
December 7, 201213 yr Author To me, Butch is the kind of guy they will like in Tennessee once they get to know who he is. His first press conference needs to be a home run for Butch to get people on board quickly and try to kill the negative talk.
December 7, 201213 yr UT seems to make questionable coaching moves. They have been searching for a head coach since Fuller left. Lane Kiffen, Dooley, and now Jones. Only 2 years of head coaching experience for a high profile program like Tennessee. I'm not sure Jones is the answer either.
