If they play like they did today, yes. If it is to potential, i like that game.

 

I agree.. I think Mayfield would probably win that game, but, I don't feel NCC played there best game today, by any means.. It's really a tribute to NCC for not playing there best and still managing to fight, scrap, claw and find a way to win that game and never let themselves get down.. That, to me, is a sign of a championship team.. I think BGreen did pretty much the same in their game, not playing their best, but, still managing to come out on top.. Championship pedigree for both those squads..

Same thing happened in 09 when Mayfield got beat by LCA.. No way they were that much better than what the score indicated, but, things happen, snowball and there you go..

You had a great argument going, but now you just sound dopey. LCA WAS that much better than Mayfield. LCA's QB made a bunch of early mistakes, & their RB (Hayden) had a bad ankle, but they still crushed Mayfield.

5 ints in the 1st half alone sure didn't help, plus with 1:00 to go in the 1st half, Mfd has ball inside LCA 10 yd line, down 21-7 and gets picked and gives up another TD right before the half to go up 28-7.. Mayfield gets the ball to start 2nd half and scores within 1st 2 minutes.. Had they have scored right before the half, we would have been down 21-19 with a whole half to play and I believe it would have been a different game, plus LCA scores a cheap TD late against Mayfields reserves.. Not making excuses because I definately believe LCA was the better team, but, not 34 points better, probably more like 2 tds better.. The reason I made that comparison was because Fairview had an opportunity twice in the redzone where they turned it over and they also gave up a late score in the 1st half to go down 28-7, whereas it very well could have been 21-14 or 21 all and, who knows, could have been a different ballgame.. Momentum and emotion play such a big factor in hs football.. That's all I'm saying.. I think you would admit that Fairview was better than what they played, correct? I contend that Mayfield, in 2009, was better than what they played that day, as well..
