In a previous post comparing NKY QBs (I couldn't find it or I would have re-posted), someone had put the numbers together. It had maybe the top 5-6 compared.

From looking at that, I'm really surprised Donovan McCoy (HHS) doesn't get more ink! I know there are folks that would say "Well look what team he plays on. It's easy to do it with them. Look at all the weapons they have. You can't just key on one player". All that is true to some extent.

However, I'll throw this out there. He also has only played a half in most of their games. Usually sitting by half time or soon after. And because they have so many weapons, he doesn't get the opportuities he would if they didn't have all the other options. What would his numbers be if they did rely on him and he had to play 4 quarters of every game. I know HHS has some weak teams on their schedule, but this kid has done it against everyone, including Elder. In fact, they go to him more in the big games than they do the easier games. They do have to play Pendleton and Harrison Co, but they also played Elder, Cov Cath, Boyle and Scott Co. I think you need to compare SOS when evaluating also.

Nothing against the other QBs obviously. I have only seen Bir play and he is good. I assume the others that everyone talks about are also good.

But McCoy's speed, quickness and arm is underrated in my opinion. Am I just looking at this through my Bluebird goggles? Maybe I am, but this kid is good and if I were looking to start a football team, he'd be one of the first I'd take!

He had a lot of pressure filling the shoes of Towles. I was a little skeptical at first, but this kid has made a believer out of me!

Enough already, we have heard WAY too much about Highlands footballers. J/K

Don't be a hater, Lawnboy! Your kids have that blue blood running through their veins whether you like it or not!

I was a believer after the Elder game last year.

Kid is a really, really good high school player who has had a tremendous season.

IMO he's a WR in college. His arm strength on the short passes and the out passes IMO isn't there. Throws a beautiful deep ball.

I think he can play WR at the NAIA and maybe FCS level.

You are correct, damn cake eating wife. However blue 'n gold blood trumps blue 'n white.

Should be worth noting that Bir has accumulated his stats playing in 2 to 3 quarters well over half of his games as well.

Donovan is a lot of fun to watch on the field and is a very smart kid as well. His brains and his athleticism will secure him a spot at the next level for sure.
