Before 2005, the last Bellevue win was in 1999. Bellevue won in the regular season 17-0. Beechwood then turned the tables in the playoffs 35-0 and went on to win another state championship. That was Bellevue's only loss that year.

 

Beechwood got a taste of that the next year, in 2000, going undefeated the entire season and then losing to New Cath in the playoffs 17-14. Beechwood had beaten NCC 14-0 in the regular season match and had a string of 8 shutouts going before the playoff loss. The Tigers had given up 20 points all season prior to that NCC loss no more than 7 points in a game.

Honestly I think Bellevue has only beaten them 3 times in 25 yrs.

Beechwood by as many as they want. Bellevue will simply have no answer for Nuss on offense. Bellevue may get a score or two however the tandum of Nuss and Thomas in the backfield will be too much to handle. I think this will be a good opportunity for Beechwood's defense. Dixie was able to move the ball on the Beechwood's D pretty easily. I would like to see the Beechwood D record a shutout or only allow a td going into district play. Beechwood's O will have no problem in district play or the playoffs for that matter unless a team can step up and shut down Nuss. Beechwood is going to need their D to start stepping up in order to make a deep run in the playoffs or win another state title.

I don't see the playoffs being as easy for them as has been over the years. Mayfield has obviously been a challenge, but I could see other teams causing them problems this year.

Yes I believe Frankfort will be their toughest test early. If they get pass Frankfort then Mayfield will arguably be the toughest match up the entire playoffs. Their RB, LB Jackson is something else.
