September 30, 201213 yr Last time I checked So. Miss had to play in the same conditions UL did. I still think UL is a little better overall, but anyone who thinks UL would walk on WKU is sorely mistaken. Let's face it, UL hasn't walked all over Florida International or Southern Miss.

They did walk all over Kentucky... And while they did have to play in the same conditions, weather like that is an equalizer favoring the less talented team. Anyone around football knows that. Especially if the less talented team is run-oriented and has a game plan to stay on the ground because, say, they have a true freshman making his first start at QB.

Almost prefect quote, except that he is a red shirt freshman....when I saw the forecast, I was very upset...I knew it would be a closer game.
September 30, 201213 yr Author The conditions did play a part in the outcome. The cards are most likely the worse undefeated team left in football. However undefeated is still undefeated and is a good place to be. My question is why do we still not know if this team is good or not? With the big East as weak as it is why such a bad nonConference schedule?

I've been around football and I've never heard that. Why would it favor the less talented team?

September 30, 201213 yr In theory it creates a slower track and increases the odds of a turnover. Honestly it is just one of the cliches of the game. As far as the best team I think everyone can agree it is between WKU and UL. I think no question WKU can beat UL. If WKU keeps their HC then the gap gets smaller. Keep in mind WKU has only been a D1 school for a few years. In the past 15 years they were fighting just to keep a football program. Maybe UL beats them a majority of the time but I don't think UL would want to play them. It would be much more dangerous game than UL would want

U of L's strength has been to stop the run (I refuse to count yesterday towards my opinion on that)......what is WKU's strength?
October 1, 201213 yr Then we both went to WKU at the same time. Just by chance I've caught a number of WKU's game this year including the AL game. WKU was able to run the ball against AL. WKU looks and plays more like an SEC school then UK right now. I was saying they could beat UL and that it would be a closer game than some want to think. As far as UL being good against the run. UK could run against UL but just didn't run the ball that much. Missouri St isn't exactly going to churn up yards on the ground and once you get down by so much you almost have to throw to catach up. Point in case the NC game. They get behind and then have to throw to get back into it which means less yards on the ground.
