Interesting to read that Coach Stratton was going to kick the XP to tie it by his QB talked him into going for two.

 

He puts some good trust in his players! That goes a long way. That same situation happened last year against Brossart.

The game tonight was painful to watch if you are a HC fan. Way too many turnovers (6) - I recall 2 fumbles by the QB Trail, 1 fumble by Beal, 1 fumble by Gabbard after a catch and 2 int. Lloyd did have their fair share of turnovers. The reason why Lloyd went for 2 was simple - no kicking game. It did not help that HC had 2 separate off sides penalties on extra points that moved the ball closer. Not hard to get a few yards. I still don't understand the offense in that you have a very tall TE Knochelmann that does not get used and they should throw short passes to Pouncey and let him do his thing. It basically was QB run and Beal run. HC defense did a pretty good job of pressuring Lloyd's QB, but HC db's could not defend the long pass. This game was a make or break one for HC - now no chance of a winning record.

I got to the game late but what I did see was the same as the last 3 games and that is 8 & 10 are big problems for this team!! Trail can't run the ball well and can't throw that over the middle pass to Nuck or Pouncey. He can only pass on the roll out and that's not good cause your not using your play makers that can make the difference! I feel sorry for gabert cause they moved him around twice and he still got burnt! If I was a team watching film it would be easy just throw where he is and your going to win it's just plane and simple!! I felt that the D looked a lot better and played with energy. The calls in the game looked crazy at times and the spots of the balls were crazy by the officials on 3 key plays but you got to know that's going to happen cause it dose in every game but I do believe it was a bad game do the officials!! I hope that they take a good look at this loss and make some big changes in the QB spot Pouncey would be the guy to get the job done IMO. Safety I don't know who to put there mabe Nuckelman I don't know but we need someone and we need it fast!!!!

I have to disagree with this. I think you have to say that 6 cost them the game, 6 turnovers. You cant blame the players on this one. Trail had a good game, one int but all qbs have them, the second one at the end of the game you cant put on him. That was just a toss up trying to make something happen. I think he did a great job scrambling and making his passes, a few were dropped. Gabbard had decent game as well, a long td score and a great attempt that was broke up by a good def play. I didnt get to see every play but I think 15 for Lloyd is goibg to make a few people on def's look like they missed some plays.

Your right it is the game and that stuff will happen. I like both players and I'm sorry about that post cause you can see the effort that they are putting out is getting better and better!! But I still think we need a QB change IMO if we want to go far this year even if it's Gabert and this is not to hurt 8 I just don't see him being any better then 10 back there. Keep working hard you guys prove me wrong and shut me up lol!!!

Something I want to add for the HC fans. This was a game that,we wanted to win for the chance at winning the division. We didnt so it pretty much knocks that out for us but as fans we need to drop that and look forward to the play off and a real good chance for a run.

Trail started practicing with this team late into the season so his time with them now is basically what every other qb had with thier team before thier first game. It takes time to get comfortable with,a team and get timing down. I look for this team to really atart rolling now and into the playoffs so get behind them. We will be fine this year so just relax and enjoy.

I'm not sure fumbles are what Trail had in mind when he walked by NCC's student section last week at the NCC/SK game and said to be sure and read about him in the paper this week!
