These two teams have a history of playing tough, close games. I've seen them both play this season and I think Belfry is at least 3 touchdowns better than Prestonsburg at this point. Prestonsburg, however, is the "type" of team that gives Belfry problems as they have a mobile QB who can find open receivers. Belfry's secondary looked bad last week against Henry Clay. Belfry should be able to run the ball on Prestonsburg effectively, but they will have to hold onto the football and turn those drives into touchdowns. Prestonsburg must not let Belfry run between the tackles, they need to force them out on the corners where the Blackcats can use their speed to their advantage.

Belfry 40 Blackcats 24

Belfry 42-14.

What are the chances Prestonsburg comes into CAM Stadium and steals a win from Belfry tomorrow night?

A different question: If Prestonsburg beats Belfry, can write Belfry off in the 3A title hunt?

Two chances.......little and none!!

The last time Prestonsburg came to CAM they handed Belfry a big loss.

If Belfry lays it on the ground like last week anything can happen.

Additionally, what got Belfry beat vs. Henry Clay were those pesky little fundamental things on defense such as missed tackles, busted coverages, losing contain, and taking poor angles. If these aren't remedied this a recipe for trouble against any team with quality skill players, which is what Pburg has.

If Belfry can eliminate some of the mistakes from last week I honestly think they win this one by a fairly comfortable margin. If they turn it over and make the mistakes that allow Pburg to hit a couple home runs, as well as continue drives, then you could definitely see an upset.

I don't know about that.

I think a loss tonight would certainly make Belfry a distinct underdog, but it's not like Belfry hasn't struggled or even lost early season games to teams they were supposed to defeat soundly, only to right the ship come November and play their best ball:

2003- Lose to Boyd County 18-0 (Won Title)

*SIDE NOTE: This Boyd County loss is one of the great "WTF" games of Belfry lure as Boyd County finished 5-7.. what's interesting though is the fact that 3 of Boyd's 5 wins were vs. a 13-2 Belfry team, an 8 win Ashland team, and a Bell County team who entered 9-1.

2004- Only defeat a 3-8 Lawrence County 20-18 (Won Title)

2005- Only defeat a 4-7 Lawrence County 14-13 (Reached Semi's)

2006- Only defeat Pikeville 24-20 (Reached Semi's)

2007- Never really struggled until the Finals

2008-Only defeat a winless Lawrence County 20-13 (Reached Semi's)

2009- We'll ignore all those struggles as that appeared to be the weakest Belfry team of the past decade..I would hope this team isn't in the same boat

2010- Lose @ home to Pburg 21-6 (Reached Finals)

2011- Gave up 30 points to a mediocre Pburg team (Reached Finals)

Every year except 2007 Belfry had that stinker game early in the season. Hopefully this year's edition has already gotten their stinker out of their system.
