Is your proposal for all sports? Just for Football?

All sports. My view is that football was just the last straw on the Camels back. I believe it is an issue across the board and stronger on the girls side of the sports spectrum.

I agree but you just killed the Sweet 16. They will be making a movie about you someday. Just like they did about Charles (I'm not your garbage) Manson and the Son of Sam.

Final 4 of each division meets in Lexington to play it out.

For Boys: Level 1 and Level 3 semifinals on Wednesday evening. Level 2 and Level 4 on Thursday evening. Level 1 and 3 finals on Friday evening. Level 2 and 4 finals on Saturday evening.

For Girls: Level 1 and Level 3 semifinals on Wednesday afternoon. Level 2 and Level 4 on Thursday afternoon. Level 1 and 3 finals of Friday afternoon. Level 2 and 4 finals on Saturday evening.

Rotate the games the next year.

If GURU will keep my identity hidden, they won't know who I am to hate me.

I am proposing this compromise. I quickly admit that I have not spent hours poring over this plan but hastily place it in front of you for your consideration.

High Schools are either automatically placed in a level based upon certain criteria or can choose to be in a certain level.

Level 1 1200 students or more, 9th through 12th grade. For those without a 9th grade directly in the HS, 900 students or more, 10th through 12th grade.

Level 2 Students receive financial aid or school systems with open enrollment.

Level 3 School systems that have closed boundaries, no financial aid and are more than 800 students 9-12.

Level 4 School systems that have closed boundaries, no financial aid and are less than 800 students 9-12.

I have tried to setup a system that allows like to schools to compete against like schools.

You need to define exactly what financial aid is. I know that with Catholic Schools in the Lexington Diocese all contributing active parishioners pay less than non parishioners for tuition at Catholic grade schools, middle schools, and Lexington Catholic High School. To the proponents of a public/private split is the fact that parishioners are getting a break on tuition considered financial aid?

Also, with regard to the 20 mile radius proposal. Lexington Catholic is the only Catholic High School option for Catholics in the Lexington Diocese. Some of the parishes are within the radius and others are outside. Do the proponents of public private split have a problem with Catholic kids within the diocese that are outside the 20 mile radius attending LC?

Any part of tuition for either public or private is not handled by the parents but by the school or a school supporting group would be seen as financial aid.

Whose problem are we trying to solve?

Tuition aid that is awarded in accordance with KHSAA rules should have NO bearing on the classification of the school. Anything else punishes schools for reaching out to less wealthy families. That would be bad policy from the KHSAA and bad policy for the schools.

No punishment, just lumping those schools who financially can encourage students to attend their school with schools who also do that. While not asking schools, like public schools, who cannot offer scholarships to offset the tuition cost to out of district students.

No different than NCAA DIII level schools.

Obviously, the 190 something schools who voted for Prop 20 perceive an issue.

The 80 something schools who voted against don't perceive a problem.

Although in fairness, many of those 80 something schools have made proposals to address issues, so they must perceive some sort of issue out there although they disagree with a private/public split.

The only students in the Commonwealth who do not receive financial aid are those who attend private schools and pay full tuition. All other schools have either partial aid (private school students who receive partial aid toward tuition) or public school students (who receive full financial aid toward tuition from the taxpayer).

Not correct.

Those students who attend out of district schools, the local district receives NOTHING tax wise for them from the local property taxes. Also, UNLESS the school from the community allows it, they do not receive any ADA money for them either.

So, a parent who does not want to send their child to the public school in their community has two options, 1) attend the private school where they can have the tuition cost offset with financial aid or scholarships; 2)attend another public school and pay full tuition where no financial aid or scholarships can be offered.

LBBC in my opinion you are trying to fix something that isn't broken . Leave it alone .

190something schools indicated that something in the system was broken. I don't believe the broken part is just private/public. But the enrollment issues across the board are the issues.

190 schools are wrong and just being vindictive . The problem only started when the privates started winning their share of Championships . Everything was alright when the public schools were dominant .:irked: I don't recall the privates complaining about that dominance .
