Who's just tired of all this?

Featured Replies

They are not in the same county.

You said you want privates to agree to the same boundries as public schools but I just showed you an example of a public school student who could attend a public school in another county just like a private student could.

That's the way it is right now, so you have your wish, and everything is okay right now isn't it?

No,the point was that public and private schools both should be limited to getting their students from the counties that they are in.If the student wants to go to that school they need to live in that county.

That is not what you said.

You said, "There's a simple fix...Get the private schools to agree to the same kind of boundries that the public schools are restricted too and there you have it...."

Private schools do agree to the same boudaries some that public schools are restricted to (basically none).

Now do you want to add that other public schools have to agree to the boundries that some public schools are rstricted to?

All schools public, private, independent or any other should only be allowed to get their students from the same county that that school is in.

So you want some public schools to change the way they conduct themselves? What if they don't want to and why should they?

I'm tired of it because it has disgusted me. Mostly I find the lies, ignorance, and arrogance brought out by this debate, has led people to make assumptions about programs (on all sides of the arguement) and the people involved with them that shed them in dimmer light than they deserve.

If we are going to ask that private schools conform to these boundries and rules then the public schools should also do the same. The whole point of this is to make the playing field the same for all.

So if a private school student is restricted to a county that the private school is in (your idea) than a student in Jefferson County can go to any public school in the county? Same for Fayette County? What about Boyle County? What if everyone picks Boyle County, should Danville close up?

Yes it would be the same for any county. Now what are the chances that all the students in one county would want to go to that one school? Considering traditions and rivalries and so on...

It wouldn't have to be all students . If there are 33% in each of three county schools and only 10% of the students at School A and School B leave and go to School C then School C is now over-crowded with 53% of the students in the county.

And with that I am now tired...........

Thank you Ram for sticking with the thread...looks like just you and me at this point....oh and I agree with your post.

And what about counties that don't have a private school? Where can those kids go?

:thumb: Very good post. I was very apathetic about the situation and considered it to be a Louisville, NKY, Lexington problem until I read some of the arrogant comments by some and realized they were as ignorant of the way we must do things as I am of their situation. I've since come to the conclusion that there is no equitable solution, there will be no level playing field, and the problem goes beyond private v. public. I'm willing to accept that and use that as a starting point. Just stop telling me your advantage is because you're harder working, smarter, and prettier than me.

I think this is a very good post that sums up my feelings also.

Xman, I became tired of this long ago. I found I had much better things to do than debate with a group of HEADLESS HORSEMEN. :jump:
