About 10 minutes til kickoff. As I entered stadium I got a kick out of seeing a Beechwood Independent School suburban in the lot. Guess we should get use to seeing that in the lot each week this season

Mayfield gets the ball 1st and takes kickoff up to there own 32 yd line..

Jonathan Jackson picks up 32 yds on 1st play from scrimmage and they get extra yardage on a facemask penalty.

Mayfield 7-0 Take opening drive straight down the field

Mills picks up 3, a complete pass for another 3 and then Jackson picks up a 1st down and they have it 1st and 10 at the 12 yd line..On the next play, Mills takes it in for 6 and the pat is good...Mayfield 7 Madisonville 0..

 

Nice opening drive as the Cardinals OL really knocked them off the ball..

Madisonville starts there opening drive at there own 19 yd line.. A loss of 1 on there 1st play.. a gain of 2 on 2nd down.. On 3rd and long, a Madisonville receiver got behind the Cardinal secondary and took it all the way to the house for an 80 yd TD, PAT is good... 7 to 7 with 8:16 to go in 1st qtr..

Mayfield starts next drive at there own 32..No gain on 1st down, 8 yd completion on 2nd down, Jackson picks up the 1st down.

On 1st down, Jackson has another big gain up to the Maroon 36 yd line for another 1st down..

Mills for no gain, a pass completion for 7 yds and then on 3rd and 3, a bad snap from the shotgun and the Cards fumble that's recovered by the Maroons..

Madisonville can't do anything with it and on 4th and 8th are forced to punt..Mayfield will start on there own 11 yd line..

On 1st down, a quick screen to Brown for a 76 yd gain and on the 2nd play, J.Jackson takes it in for the score from 13 yds out, PAT is good...14-7 Cardinals lead..

The Maroons start the next drive at there own 35 yd line after the Cards kick it out of bounds.. They pick up a 1st down but are forced to punt at about midfield.. Cardinals take over at there own 17 yd line... 40 secs to go in 1st qtr..

Mills picks up 10 for a 1st down, after an incomplete pass, Guhy hits Jackson for 16 yds to end the 1st qtr..14-7 Mayfield after 1 qtr.. The Cards will have the ball 1st down at there own 43 yd line to start the 2nd qtr..

On the 1st play of the 2nd qtr, Guhy hits Dion Jackson for a 57 yd touchdown pass, PAT is good... 21 to 7 Mayfield..

After a touchback giving the Maroons the ball at there own 20, they pick up 7 yds on 3 plays and are forced to punt again..
