Houndman I am afraid once again you might need to recheck your sources. Combs was a GA at EKU briefly because he was offered the position at UK. Who would not take a higher paying position at a D-1 school over a GA position at a D-1AA school? Also what you "heard" about leaving on bad terms is also incorrect, infact more than one of EKU's coaches have called and strongly recommended Combs for his knowledge of the game and work ethic. He did indeed coach Tightends there in which one of his tightends Patrick Bugg became an All-American.

And yes wrong again Houndman at UK he was indeed a restricted earnings S&C coach(if you know what that is, it is a step up from a GA position)for football and baseball, never had anything to do with women's soccer or the minor sports.

Third times the charm wrong again Houndman he did not call the offense at Nelson last year, another coach did.

Just a note about his wife as well, he wanted to coach college, tried it, and came back to high school solely because he knew he would never see his family if he remained at the college level.

He is still so well connected at the college level it becomes a great tool for coaching high school and getting recruits to look at his kids.

I know Combs and know his history and predict a very successful coaching future for him.

Now Houndman these are the real facts. Lets work on knowing them before you post untruths about others.

It's not much fun on here when someone attacks you personally is it Blackshirts. I hope eveyone remembers this when they say something negative about someone else who they don't even know.

Your information is incorrect and WELL-SPINNED.....to even suggest that a GA is responsible for an All-American shows you know nothing about college football...I'll let the rest go cause its obvious you are clueless....I have not idea who this guy is, I just did some digging and found out he had coached at a mediocre program in high school, a mediocre program in college and thought it odd that he was at one job for a heartbeat and a half (and if you are a FOOTBALL COACH a 1aa FOOTBALL GA job is MUCH better than a IA S&C job only lifting weights, regardless of who you are monitoring in the weight room).

Also i wasn't attacking Combs....I did what everyone else does....looked up some facts, asked some questions and presented information from my point of view. I just read a post that said "he's ready" and in my opinion guys from losing programs are not ready to be a head coach.....

Lets just remember one fact, that stating a fact is very different than presenting information from a persons point of view. Both facts and personal points of view are great on this site, however lets not use points of view and say they are facts!

Good advice blackshirts....just make sure you practice what you preach.

I don't know too much about Combs, so my goal is not to defend him. But just an outsider looking in it looks like to me by reading this thread that Houndman you might need to know a little more about who and what you are talking about before you post. Every program and every coach is capable of having a losing season. TALENT plays a huge role, some ok coaches have winning seasons because they have unbelievable talent. Sometimes great coaches have losing seasons because they have 0 talent. Believe me I had the oppportunity to watch Nelson Co one time this year and Coach Bill Cowher probably could not have done much better than 1-9 either! Did you see Nelson play this year?

Because of the personal attacks, this one is done!
