June 5, 201214 yr Author Tanner Rahier @trahierss Excited to be selected by the Reds organization! Thankyou for everyone who has been a part of my development as a person and a player #Reds I love that they drafted him and his body and tools translate to 3rd Base...The Reds strategy of saving money for this pick by drafting guys earlier that no one else had high on their boards worked...If the Reds hadn't drafted him, I don't know that any other teams would have been willing to chance it due to him being a 1st Round talent and probably asking for above slot money for a 2nd Rounder... Great Steals in this draft by the Reds...They had the inside track on Travieso yesterday and it allowed them to get Rahier today...Basically the Reds got 2 top 25 talents in this draft...
June 5, 201214 yr Author The Reds come up again at 109 and there is still big talent that has slid due too other teams not being able to go over slot too sign them...I think the Reds might take one more of these High School guys that others are passing on due too their potentially high dollar figures and then the Reds will go with College guys for a while after that...
June 5, 201214 yr Author Some guys the Reds are rumored to now have on their boards... Updated Big Board For Reds After 90 picks 1. Hunter Virant LHP HS 2. Adam Brett Walker OF? Jacksonville 3. Rio Ruiz 3B HS 4. Jake Barrett RHP Arizona St 5. Brett Mooneyham LHP Stanford 6. Kenny Diekeroger SS Stanford 7. Skye Bolt OF HS 8. D'Vone McClure OF HS 9. Peter O'Brien C Florida 10. Avery Romero 3B/C? HS Adam Brett Walker is a guy I have wanted from the beginning...
June 5, 201214 yr Author Love the scouting report on Rahier and his make up as a player. Comps to Evan Longoria….heart and effort like Pete Rose…..skipped HS team to play in traveling wood bat league…..raw body….strong with workouts designed by father who’s a sports fitness guru….dragging tractor tires around in the hot desert sun…..raw but love the base he gives you to mold here
June 5, 201214 yr Author I want Mooneyham just because of his last name. He actually wouldn't be a bad pick...
June 5, 201214 yr Author I'm really hoping the Reds look at HS OF Nick Williams...Read his scouting report... Every Draft class has a number of raw, toolsy high school players, the high-risk, high-reward types that some teams love. Williams fits that mold perfectly. The Texas prepster reminds some of a less-refined Ken Griffey Jr., and a team taking him can only hope he develops as such. Williams has very good raw power, especially to his pull side, and a short swing could mean some good overall hitting skills. A tremendous athlete, Williams has excellent speed that should play once he learns more about baserunning. Defensively, he has a strong arm -- as pitcher, he's touched 94 mph -- but he doesn't throw well yet from the outfield. The raw tools are all there; it will take a team willing to be patient to see them turn into performance. But it could be well worth the wait.

June 5, 201214 yr Author With the 109th pick in the 2012 MLB Draft the Reds select Daniel Langfield out of Memphis...He can bring it up to 97MPH...Mid 80's slider with good movement, projects as a reliever...
