2012 All 10th Region team

Featured Replies

So is it accurate to say that there aren't more players from regional champ Bishop Brossart or schools like Scott, Mason County (beat Montgomery County as well), and Bracken County because you didn't see them as much as therefore aren't as familiar with the talent on those teams?

I know nothing about these players - other than the big names like Mullins, Martin, McQuery - just curious about the process and did notice the list seemed heavily slanted towards Montgomery County for some reason and was curious why. I would only say that if you are trying to get exposure to these players, comments such as "needs to work on attitude", "average bat", and "needs to work on a couple pitches (for your UK-bound player of the year, nonethless) would not be classified as overly positive exposure. Not saying the comments aren't accurate, just not sure the benefit of including statements like that and might make sense to leave the comments all on the positive.

Oh, and just to be clear, I'm not a kid (by a long stretch :D) and not affiliated with any school or kid in the 10th. Just a high school baseball fan.

Ben Gulley was the only pitcher from Montgomery County that made the list. I know some of you kids are not going to be happy that you didn't make it. Coaches in the 10th Region will tell you that Montgomery County has talent at the top four batters in their lineup. I recieved an email this morning telling me that allstar is a Montgomery County player who mentioned his own name. I watched Bourbon,Clark,Montgomery and Harrison County the most this year and I agree these teams have more talent than any of the other school combined. I'm not in this to make everone happy,I'm in this to get exposure to the kids who deserve it. Congratulations to the winners. Good luck Seniors as you start a new chapter in your life.

Since you appear to have "outed" allstarwinners, in the interest and fairness of full disclosure, do you have any personal affiliations with any of the listed players or schools?

He needs to be careful with that ...revealing identities in a public forum is taboo.

To be clear, I'm not asking him to reveal his identity. Just curious if he is connected to any of the players/schools that he lists, given that he (or she, for all I know) have previously identified themselves as an independent, third-party high school baseball evaluation/reporting source (listed they have two "employees" in another thread).

I'm from Mason County if that is what you want to know. I am no way affiliated with any schools but I do have a nephew that goes to Mason County High Schhol and he even plays Basketball. Could it be that Montgomery County has three players that is getting watched closely by division 1 schools. I'm going to watch games where the best players play at and Montgomery,Clark,Harrison,Bourbon had the best players in the region in my opinion. A lot of coaches felt the same way. I understand that you guys are unhappy that you didn't make it. Brossart plays like a team and had a great season so be proud of what you did and go and win the State Tournament, I will be here pulling hard for you. Just because you won the Region doesn't mean you have the best players. Montgomery County also beat Mason County by a score 18-0 later in the year. I'm not a fan of Montgomery County and I think their Adninistration is a joke, but I do like to watch a couple of players that play on that team. I liked watching Chase Mullins pitch as well as Jordan Martin. I hope to have our website up in a couple of weeks so feel free to take a look at it. Thank You to Bluegrass preps and Gold Sunrise for giving us the opportunity to poston this great board. I hope I can get Gold Sunrise to be a moderator on our website because she knows her sports. Have a great summer guys! Work hard and I'm sure you will be on here next year. I wish you all much success!

I wasn't referring to you in that post but to him outing the player who had messages him. Sorry for the confusion.

Good to know that just like basketball the 10th Region baseball hard liners still consider Northern Kentucky (37th District) the red headed stepchild in the area. I would bet that not a 37th District coach was contacted to put together that all star lineup and if your going to put together a group based on talking to coaches post the coaches who participated. It has taken a long time for the 37th District to be considered as equals in basketball and it just seems like it is taking a little longer in baseball?

Keep in mind this is just one guy's opinion and, given how heavily Montgomery County-oriented it seems to be, loses some credibility. Makes no sense that Bezold (Brossart) is not on the list and clearly indicative that not enough of the NKY contingent was viewed. I asked a knowledgeable baseball source I know in that area about MC and he described them as a nice, solid, but not overly special team that played a relatively weak schedule compared to some of their contemporaries in the 10th.

Brossart's Fardo, "the OF with a good arm"; just pitched his way to his 8th win of the season in the first round of the state tourney to advance his team to the elite eight??

I'm also suprised there is no Hunter Hill either. Lead Harrison County in home runs and a solid catcher. IMO the best catcher in the region this year.

Where will Mr. Hill be going to college?

Where will Mr. Hill be going to college?

The last I heard he was still undecided.
