Ben Maile goes to 8-0 on the season, with a 0.93 ERA!

Coupled with his 9-1 & 2.46 ERA record last year, it puzzles the heck out of me, that Ben isn't getting more looks from D1 Schools. What in the world are you colleges coaches looking for! :idunno:

This is just me, but Ben does not look like a pitcher.

He is a big kid and looks more like a defensive lineman.

Too many colleges in all sports look at a box and if you do not fit in it, you are not going to get a look.

To answer your question, yes to the best of my knowledge! CovCath has a long history of kids playing college baseball on all levels.

I have seen the sign on the building before. But not to be rude, that really doesn't answer the question. Does the school help the player/student put together a profile of their baseball stats and school achievements that is sent to a college coach for review? Or do the players have to rely on their select team and or parents to do the leg work? What should I expect when my kids start attending high school and play baseball? I know that the football program helps the players create game film clips to be sent to college coaches.

Last night was a good one for CCH baseball. The JV threw a no-no at Holy Cross and won 10 - 0, and the Freshmen won their first round game in the Frosh Regional against a very good Campbell Co. team!

These are very impressive numbers to say the least. What are his measureables?

Does he play summer ball? Idk this Maile from Adam but Iam sure he is one heck of an athlete that most coaches if given a chance would take this kid on their team any day.

BTW, is there a reason you only posted half of that picture of alumn playing in college? Just curious............

SB on my 23 inch monitor at home it shows the whole thing but at work on my 19 inch monitor, you are correct, it only shows about half of the picture.

Ben plays for the Ky Colonels and has for a couple of years now!

Frankly the young man is a pitcher and not a thrower. Have seen a ton of throwers over the years but at the higher level they get hit or their arms go out but pitchers who understand how to work a batter, throw strikes, keep the ball low and know how to change speed with the same pitching motion.....well not so much!

I certainly think Ben can play at a very high level...success in the past, good program, good family history all positive indicators for me.

I'm sure he will get his chance somewhere. Does he have any offers yet?

TOG, how many errors did you have for Holy Cross? My mental book had the first 4 CCH runs being unearned. I am not even counting the poor play in RF as true errors.

I gave HC 5 errors... I didn't give "9" an E with Reese at bat in the 7th, as I honestly thought it was a good try on his getting his glove on the ball. Yes he dropped it but I think it was more than a routine play, so IMO it was a hit!

E-5 in the 1st Reese at bat

WP in 1st with Lankheit at bat

E-9 in the 3rd Reese at bat

E-8T in the 4th

E-3T in the 5th Schreiver at bat FC

E-4T in the 6th Best at bat

PB in the 6th Arzen at bat

WP in the 6th Maile at bat

WP in the 6th Schreiver at bat

Nice offensive game for Arnzen. Very nice kid and a very good athlete. Is he playing college ball anywhere?
