I struggle with McGwire and may need my memory refreshed. Did he do steroids or did he use some growth hormone?

 

Clemens is also a tough one. Actually, the whole steroid thing is a tough one and I can have times where I would include those on roids.

Anyone that seriously considers Reggie Sanders for the HOF automatically loses their voting privileges.

 

UKMF is correct that his number are better than most realize. However, NO CHANCE he even deserves consideration. The HOF is for the great of the great. Sanders was never considered "great" much less "great of the great."

Never really got to see Morris pitch, so I'm admittedly biased, but from what I've read and gathered from different things I've heard over the years, his World Series performance is what defined his career. A guy who's career is defined by one game is not HOF worthy IMO.

He was on 4 pitching staffs of World Series Champions, most wins in the 1980s by any pitcher and 5-time all star is more than one game. Should have already been elected IMO. I thought he would get elected with Larkin this last time.

Your understanding of Jack Morris is admittedly incomplete. 254 wins/175 COMPLETE GAMES/2500 Ks PLUS his post-season performances trump Schilling IMO easily for me.

And see that's the problem with him right there. His entire (stellar) career is an after-thought to his performance in one game.
