Zeke Pike

I will disagree with my man TOG in regards to measuring a high school QB by state championships. It's completely irrelevant to me when evaluating a QB. If that's the way we measure then our own Blake Bir will not fare well either. Really simple in my mind. Does he have size? Can he throw the ball?

There's a reason why so many schools watched the kid and offered.

Are you saying that Pike was better than Towles? There's more to being an SEC quarterback other than size and being able to throw the ball. What about having character and being able to lead a team in battle?

Read what I typed and do not read anything into it.

What everyone seems to forget here is that D1 coaches/recruiters are paid to wee what you WILL be not what you are. IMO there is little doubt that PT was a better HS QB that Zeke, however several schools/experts believe Zeke's upside is as good or better than PT. Im' not saying agree, but that is what gets you recruited to D1 schools.

Most D1 schools will not even consider a o-lineman unless he is over 6'3" with "large" build. Every year I see far superior HS players go to D2, NAIA or D3 schools than a player(s) that has the Size and thus the POTENTIAL who gets a scholly to a D1 school.

The argument should be who will be better down the road in 2 or 3 years, because that is what the D1 coaches care about.

BTW my vote still goes to PT.
