Question for ya fmky, why do you like Ozzie so much? I've never really considered him one of the better managers in the game, so I'm just curious.

I'm fairly neutral on his managerial skills. I personally haven't watched enough White Sox games to gain a firm impression either way. I do feel that players like playing for him and he can relate well to players. He is a no-bs kind of guy which I like too.

 

What I like is more conerning him as a person. I think he is funny and while he has zero filter it is refreshing in today's world. He also seems to be a guy who is genuine and actually cares.

 

You should also notice that I've often publicly supported guys like Iverson, Moss, and Manny Ramirez.

 

 

 

Disclaimer: I need to add that I feel the "added value" of a manager is probably overrated...

"Good" is in the eye of the beholder. I've stayed out of this thread, because I don't really care what Ozzie Guillen says, he's a sports figure. I feel the same whenever celebrities like Alec Baldwin and Tom Selleck give their opinions. However, after reading this article, I had to show it to one of my Cuban-American "dissident" friends. He didn't think too highly of it. Of course, this friend has an agenda, too. He spent 10 years in a Cuban prison after commenting on his government in much the same way Price does his in this article.

 

Idiocy is all about perspective, I guess.
