Just finished a 3 binge of this shows series Finished up the last episode of season 5 tonight. Really was an excellent show that I wish more of my friends had watched. It does require you pay attention to the detail.

 

With that said I forgot how excellent of a job they do pulling everything together in that last episode. The last 10-15 minutes is like a mirror image of season one but with different characters playing someone else's former role.

It's the best series ever produced in my opinion. Whole it's a fictional plot it could easily be considered non-fictional due to the fact that they didn't over do it, as well as the characters they used have had some shady pasts as well.

 

Melvin Williams for instance played a good guy role in the series, but his past was completely different, running a drug empire in Baltimore in the 70's and 80's. He claims he made over 200 million selling dope and was sentenced to well over 50 years total on two different charges that landed him in prison, but only served around 9 years I believe. He was essentially the inspiration for Avon Barksdales character in the series.

Baltimore is still Baltimore, the players change but the game doesn’t. Loved the show.

It's one of those series that the more you research the characters as well as watch the series multiple times you start to see things that you may not have at first. Loved the show. It ran it's corse and they ended it at a good time without running it into the ground honestly. Simon could have kept it going but it would have became a rinse and repete type of show.

Yes I agree that they ended it well. But it was so good it really left me wanting more.
