Marion County 8 Knox Central 7
Biscuiteater replied to swamprat's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
This Marion County team continues to impress. They looked great early, ran out of pitchers and gave up the big lead. It takes a mentally tough team to weather a comeback like that and still win. They may have found their 3rd pitcher today. A freshman came in and did pretty well to close out the game. -
Nelson County 6 Central Hardin 1

Had a friend call me after the Marion County game and he couldn't quit talking about the pitcher for MC. Andrew Spalding, he said he was going to play college ball at Asbury, but should be going to a D1. Do you know anything about him? -
Open Job: Russell County
Biscuiteater replied to All State Baseball's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The Milburn guy should get the job if they want to build a program. He has the right demeanor, experience and knowledge to make them successful. He should have had the Taylor County job, but those weren't the attributes they were looking for. -
Taylor played as bad as they have all season. No idea how to attack the press, sloppy passing, missed layups etc. Their best shooter from 3 only took 1 and never seemed involved. The teams that went to state the last 2 years would beat this one by 20. Injuries to Gaines wrist and McQueary elbow hurt them as well. Ballard was just too big, too fast, too good and will give Fern Creek a ballgame.

Thomas rumored to have accepted position, nothing official yet.

I'm not sure how much "green" is flowing through Taylor these days. Cox Interior is a good business, but doesn't affect that many people. Amazon is huge, but the jobs are mostly low pay. Most of the rest are farmers or small business people.
-
Not sure what that means, do they have players from the U.S. Virgin Islands? If so, they didn't get any playing time at the 5th Region tournament.

Oliver is the heart and soul. He can not be replaced, but his little brother will be a freshman next year and is considered by most to be the better athlete. I think that he is more interested in football than basketball right now, but that could change. There is also a lot of hope that Q' Goodin's brother will develop an interest in basketball. He will be a sophomore.

Ezra Oliver is the only player Taylor loses that played in region tournament. Gaines also a senior, but has been out for a month.

Taylor is building a brand new high school and the new gym is going to be the nicest or close to the nicest in the 5th region. I believe the facilities will attract some local talent from the C-ville district. I still think they made a huge mistake in not locking up Bryan Milburn as head coach. He would have stayed there for 20 years and built a solid program that won for years to come. I'm afraid Maze will be a short stay and they'll be looking for a coach again in 2 years.
