Don't know the duration of the conference but want to say some period 1990-2010 there was an NEKC that included Ashland, Russell, Boyd, Greenup, and some others. I think it showed up after a Kentucky-Ohio conference (KYOVC or OVC, V for Valley) that included the Ironton Tigers and Portsmouth Trojans.
Proud as hell of GCHS, but it'll get ugly I'm afraid. Matney will go for the quick kill, the running clock, and another home game next week.
That said - shock the state Musketeers, I'd love a chance for another game at Putnam this season if the Tomcats take care of business on Friday!
I had high hopes for Ashland @ Scott. Rowan gave Scott trouble, although if Ashland doesn't get healthy it could be a battle. I think Ashland's run D might be too much for Scott still.
Not all districts are created equal, so not all runner-ups are created equal. Maybe district winners and fill the rest with computer rankings? I think Ohio uses computer rankings for a lot of their playoff seeding, for example.
Really surprised by this result. Ashland played BC in the rainy quagmire the week before our game vs East and I thought Boyd didn't compare to the Raiders. Props to them I guess.
So after warmups and before the JFL night festivities? Didn't see it, but my attention was elsewhere. I thought on the radio postgame either Love or DM said something about GCHS player(s) spitting and stomping on the "A".
