  1. Who will be the top 10 teams in the state to start the season? Doesn't mean they will finish top 10 but based off projections the top 10 to start.
  2. Adair County comes in at 4-0 after one of the bigger wins the school has had in sometime defeating Franklin Simpson 42-7. Monroe County enters at 1-3 after losing to Barren County 21-15 last week, though they were without starting QB Branson Williams. Monroe has showed some the ability to be competitive with solid teams after only losing to Glasgow 15-14 2 weeks ago but Adair is rolling even after losing QB Easton Jessie to injury. Lane Grant stayed at RB for Adair last week and had 146 rush yards and 4 TDS in the first half and also had a 50 yard fumble recovery for a TD. If Branson Williams returns for Monroe this could be a solid game, if not then I wonder if they have enough firepower to stay on pace with Adair.
  3. This had to be the biggest shocker I have seen as an Adair County football fan and arguably the best game I have ever seen them play. They came out and dominated from the start and this is without QB Easton Jessie who was lost to a knee injury last week. Coach Stonebraker surprised many and moved WR Aiden Smith to QB and left RB Lane grant at his natural position instead of moving back to QB which he was last season. Grant looked like the best player in the district tonight with 4 offensive TDS and 1 fumble return for a touchdown. If Adairs line of scrimmage keeps doing what it did tonight then this could be a 9-1 or 10-0 type of season.
  4. Huge district game this weekend in Columbia between these two teams. Adair comes in 3-0 but their last two games have been cut short at halftime due to weather. Franklin Simpson had a surprising 36-22 loss to Allen County-Scottsville last Friday. These teams had a great showdown last year where Franklin prevailed 27-20. Franklin is led by the RB duo of Mcpherson and Anderson and an athletic QB in Decker. Adair may be a man down as new QB Easton Jessie awaits an MRI on a knee injury. Would be a big loss for the Indians but they would move RB Lane Grant back to Qb which he played all of last year and had 20 rushing TD's and 15 passing TD's. I look for this to come down to the wire and the battle of the trenches to be the deciding factor as both teams have some very good skill players.
  5. Adair County Qb Easton Jessie had an injury in first half possibly to the knee. Hoping it isn't too bad.
  6. The Indians come in 2-0 after a 36-0 weather shortened game vs Caverna last week. Larue is setting at 0-2 and have lost by 30+ points the first 2 weeks. Last year this game was closer than expected with Adair only winning 13-0 but they didn’t have Jessie at QB then either. Only way this one is close to me is if Adair is looking ahead to the big district showdown with Franklin Simpson in week 4.
  7. This one was called at halftime due to lightning delay. Caverna could not run the football at all against Adair. Adair had its way on offense as well through the air and on the ground.
  8. Adair and Caverna square off in the Kentucky Cooperage Bowl. Adair comes off a 22-16 win at Russell County where penalties by the Indians kept it much closer than it should have been. Caverna had an impressive offensive showing week 1 with a 56-44 win over Muhlenburg. Both of these teams have some athletes and offensive firepower so it could be a shootout. Adair will have a big numbers advantage in roster size with 50 players to Cavernas 22.
  9. Adair moved the ball at will in this one but penalties absolutely killed them has they had 10 for 125 yards. New QB Easton jessie looked sharp going 16-19 for 223 yards. Russell County and new coach Steven French had a great gameplay of running the ball and controlling the clock to keep the Indian offense off the field. They ran 8 minutes off in the first quarter. Adair would get Russell in numerous 3rd and longs but a penalty or QB run with missed tackles bit Adair. They will need to regroup next week as they play 1A Caverna who defeated Muhlenburg tonight.
  10. Nothing better than a first week rivalry game to begin the season. Adair enters years two of the Steve Stonebraker era and are coming off a 7-4 season with many returners. Lane Grant returns to his natural position RB after 1500 yards rushing and 20 TDS at QB last year. Solomon Stonebraker returns at wide receiver and the Indians also add QB Easton Jessie from Glasgow who had 21 TD passes last year and has a D1 offer from Toledo. Russell County has a new coach as well in Steven French whose father Larry French won 2 state titles over a decade ago at Boyle County. French has been an assistant at Russell for a couple of years and has also coached under his dad at Southwestern. Adair won this game 40-0 last season but Russell was without starting QB Owen Loy who was injured but will be back for this game. Russell only went 1-9 last season and will look to improve while Adair has its eyes on a district title.
  11. My guess is they are still a top 15-20 type team in state just not a state title contender now. They will be playing in the KOB in December so should be good test for them.
  12. Can't forget Newport has Rondon from Cooper now as well.
  13. Who won the Green and Franklin Simpson scrimmage?
  14. Sophomore receiver Tylan Spalding has left Bardstown and is now at Taylor County.
