You can't blame Chuck for going back to Boyle County - based on past history. Hear there was conflict over assitant coaches and funding, already at MC. Did new A.D. Brandon Fritz drop the ball on the Chuch Smith deal? FYI, Fritz was a player and is a current assistant coach for Feldhaus, while also assuming the role as athletic director.

Mark Scenters to Madison Central
Son of Bear replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
Scenters was an assistant at MC from 2000 until leaving for Garrard after the 2007 (?) season He is a great coach, great person, and the perfect fit at MC. As much as I'd like to see what Chuck Smith could've done in Richmond, this is a fantastic hire. -

Love this hire. -
Madison Central has been to the regional final three times, 1991 under Mike Elkin (lost to GRC), and 2003 and 2004 under Kenny Turner (lost to Dunbar and Scott County). The school has fielded solid teams many years, but has never had much success in playoffs. Football has never been a priority in the school system (basketball is king), and frankly many of the middle school programs are a joke. The superindentant (Elmer Thomas) was the principal at Boyle County for several years, coinciding with Chuch Smith if I recall for a few of those. MC's principal now is Drew Muntz, he may have ties to Boyle as well. Mark Scenters would be an excellent choice. I would rather have Frank Parks or David Hensley (if he would even be interested) over Mike Bowlin.

Is it true Bert Browne was fired? Madison Central has a new principal and athletic director. In four years, records were 1-10, 5-6, 7-5, and 2-9 for a combined 15-30 record under Browne.

UK Showing Interest in Madison Central's Hawkins

Announcement will take place at approximately 8:15am in the gym in front of the entire student body -
I am fairly certain that Quan Taylor was raised in Richmond, although I'm not 100% sure...I do know that he has had an incredibly difficult home life so he has had to overcome a lot. Ken-Jah Bosley's family is from Richmond, Bosley is a last name in Richmond like Smith may be in another community per se....I know his dad grew up in Richmond, and they lived in Indianapolis until returning a few years ago.

What a great run by Madison Central through the tough 11th region games and the Sweet 16, proud to be an alumni after the performance of these kids -
Supposedly Browne has had a change of heart and is staying at Madison Central.

Madison Central is open according to sources in Richmond. Bert Browne leaving for college assistant job in Arkansas...

Madison Central vs. Trinity Predictions
Son of Bear replied to swamprat's topic in KY Football (High School)
I've watched Madison Central (4) times this year and Trinity twice and I think a reasonable point spread would be +/- 45. MC can match up in spots, but the coaching mismatch, depth, and line of scrimmage should decide this game pretty early. -

Lowest crowd I've ever seen at a home game at Madison Central, absolutely awful. Ken-Jah Bosley had another great game, he is one of the underrated players in the state IMO. Looks like the Indians are traveling to Trinity next week for a massacre. -

^Game was 50-6 at the half and I wouldn't consider Madison Central any better than a mediocre 6A team. I honestly feel bad for the GRC kids having to travel to Trinity for the 1st round game. Bosley and Hawkins seem to limp around every game I've seen them play this year, so I wouldn't suspect any serious injuries. -

Mercer County/Madison Central Predictions
Son of Bear replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
This will be the first ever game at Madison Central's new $4M sports complex that was upgraded this past summer. The home and away sides were flipped and new seating and field turf was installed. Madison Central is far from being an elite team, but I think they will have way too much fire power for Mercer County. Indians 42-20.
