10 Good
  1. TA, I have to disagree with on that statement. We beat badly a pretty darn good Warren Central team in the semi's (62-12), we just beat a very good Manual team fairly handily (33-18) in the second round. We had one lack of focus game against JH, but I believe we were peaking at the right time. I believe state final result was a little bit above a mild upset.
  2. :thumb: good enough, that's what I assumed...but you know what happens when you assume.
  3. TA, not to change the subject, I hope you are trying to make a point with that example for the discussion and not trying to imply that the construction of our new sports complex is a result of Trinity adding on to their football field, because that would have to be another discussion.
  4. Rockmom, Diogenes is correct according to X's procedure, they are considered a "student" at St.X after receiving their acceptance letter. Once the student's receive their letters, the incoming student will start receiving the same privileges as the other students, therefore able to begin lifting weights at the school. If that isn't the requirement at T, you might be misinformed or it might be an issue for T. My understanding, if I have been informed correctly, this is the rule. The letters are not sent out until February, and are received by the school in March. Also, another reason for waiting til acceptance letter, and it was brought up by All Work No Play, is the insurrance issue. The school can't cover anybody who gets injuried using the weightroom who is not a student.
  5. RockPride, I truly agree with you on the "both teams had brialliant seasons in their own right" statement, but as much as C. Glaser's name has been thrown around with these rumors and other rumors, people would like it stopped. I DO CARE, and I understand why you don't, but like someone from another thread that you might be familar with posted "if you don't care, don't post". We are members of a X family, as you are at T, if a brother is getting beat up, another brother is going to set in.
  6. I know from a source very close to C. Glaser that there were not any hoodies at school for the team. Also, about the party, I heard rumblings for the kids that there would be a party at one of the kid's house after the game, but that is normal planning for kids to say "If we win...". I want to thank ONEILL3B for starting this thread, these rumors get way out of hand. I believe the ring rumor was started (my opinion) because "I heard from a good source" Balfour was at school that week taking orders and sizes for Senior Rings which juniors receive in the springtime. Thanks again ONEILL3B :thumb:
  7. I agree completely...and has been a great leader. It's hard to pick a favorite player from the seniors, but he has to be one of my favorites.
  8. Yes, Creighton transferred after his freshman year and was a great addition to X's JV team (9 wins 1 loss) on defense playing Safety. :thumb:
  9. Can never go wrong with rope jumping, especially for those big guys so they can move that weight around a little quicker. :thumb:
  10. C. is for "Coach", I use Coach out of respect, some people might not know his first name. In terms of knowning longer, that's a little petty, but for your information I coached at X when he was playing and also when he started his career at X.
  11. LSURock...yes, T is the home team, since this year your side of the bracket is home team. And yes, general admission tickets.
  12. You are right 86...T did score on the 1st team D one of the times, but it was after the 2nd team D allowed T to get inside X's 20. C.Walsh likes putting the 1st team back into the game to work on specific situations and also to challenge the D. I agree, T has improve since the last meeting and X's has to bring their A-game, but I also believe X has improved just as much. They had a couple of lapses in the JH game, but they survived. What I like from that outcome is you saw a more focused group of Def. backs in the WC game against a team with almost the same talent on offense. This new focus and coaches have sometime to make corrections will be a big plus (example, last years Moeller game, big turn around on defense). I want to give the X's coaching staff an overdue "pat on the back", I believe they are one of the best, if not the best, at making halftime corrections and adjustments (another example, 1999 Hoptown game). I see a different game this time, it will be closer, but I still see X winning 27 - 14. As for the comment about C. Walsh being worried...I known C. Walsh for years, he probably said that to ease your pain from the loss.
  13. JV Team is the Junior Varsity team. It is made up of players from grades 11 and below. It's purpose is to give players who are not starting or playing a lot for the varsity team the game experience. St.X uses mainly sophmores, but in some cases where a junior is not seeing much playing time on the varsity level but coaches think maybe he can help next year, will play some JV games.
