Actually the score was 53-7. Madisonville's jv and freshman played from midway through the 3rd quarter on. The games get tougher now with a much improved county rival Hopkins Central coming in this week followed by a road trip to district opponent Apollo. Henderson just may be the weakest team right now in the district but should make major improvements as the season progresses. There are no pushovers for anyone inside this district this year which should make for a very exciting race.

Who has Fulton scrimmaged? I havn't seen or heard anything on them this preseason to make a semi-educated prediction.

He's starting and took most of the snaps for the varsity (60-40). He's also playing safety on defense, which tells me Coach Weaver has a lot of faith in the young man (backup QB) that transfered in from Fort Campbell. I don't imagine Coach Weaver will hesitate going to him if Nelson struggles.

The Maroons looked very good in the first half on both sides of the ball. Union had one big run in the half and nothing else. The second half was played with a 20 minute running clock. The Maroons had 3 turnovers during that period of time, 2 int's and a fumble. One of the int's was from inside Union's 10 yard line into the end-zone. Other than not taking care of the ball in the 2nd half Madisonville's kick-off coverage needs some serious work. Union looked bigger and faster than I expected and looked to even have more kids out than usual, they should improve throughout the season.

From what I was told it was originally moved from friday to thursday because Henderson wanted to scout an upcoming opponent on friday. It was moved back due to the heat!

I thought Madisonville dominated both sides of the ball throughout the scrimmage. Tilghman coaches were so frustrated that they elected to end the scrimmage earlier than expected.
