prepnut Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Moved from Friday (17th) to Thursday (16th). Who are they scrimmaging and why did they move it? Scrimmaging Caldwell Co @ Caldwell Co. I have no idea why it was moved.
wkysportsfan Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 anyone hear how this one went, i was at the Murray high and Tilghman scrimmage this week.
The Scribe Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Moved back to Friday because of the heat index.
Sports-Junkie Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 From what I was told it was originally moved from friday to thursday because Henderson wanted to scout an upcoming opponent on friday. It was moved back due to the heat!
Colonel Henderson Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Henderson lost 14-13 to Caldwell. There will some growing pains this season. There are just too many new guys with our team. We are going from 13 or 14 players getting playing time to 30-33 and with subs rotating in. We have been in the gun on almost every play the last three seasons on offense, so we might have a little trouble scoring for a while. Our coach has a complete pass from me this year. However on the up side, we might improve more than most teams.
just 4 fun Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Caldwells coming off a 9-1 regular season from last year and that included wins over Ft Campbell and Trigg Co, who, were both Top 10 teams all year. They lost there best rb(Bell) and several key lineman from that team. They return there QB, there top receivers and a couple of decent RBs, so, they should be pretty solid..They lost a couple of good defensive linemen and 2 LBs and I think a couple of DBs, so, they are a little untested defensively. From the 1st 2 scrimmages though, they look to be reloading, not rebuilding. They could be better than expected and at some point in the season, make the Top 10, possibly even be a Top 5 team, best case scenario...
PtownDude Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Caldwell's starters outscored Henderson two touchdowns to none. Henderson's first unit got a long run against Caldwell's JV to set up a short TD run. Henderson reserves scored against Caldwell reserves on the last play of the scrimmage. Caldwell TDs came on a 9-yard run by Marcus Wimbleduff and a 12-yard pass from Will Barnes to Jake Pepper. Pepper also had a 69-yard punt, kicked off well and does a good job placekicking. Caldwell lost 2 huge DTs from last year that will be difficult to replace. The Tigers aren't very big this year, but they do have a little quickness. Offensively, the spread offense is going to produce big receiving numbers for somebody. Defensively, Caldwell gets to the ball pretty well, but may struggle to stop the run up the middle (never a good thing).
