And, to be fair, when they paint unrealistic expectations. Double-edged sword.
The juniors and seniors on this year's team have performed well as underclassmen in varsity contests. They also had winning seasons in JV contests as sophomores.
This would make my prediction not appear as an unrealistic expectation.
Agreed?
-
See. You made a prediction! Why wasn't it for winning a regional title or state? Do you not believe in the coach or the players!??!?!?
Blashpemy!
Go back and read the thread and review the schedule, game location and the strength of the teams they will be playing. If you disagree that is fine, but wisen up an realize that because people don't see the things the way you do doesn't indicate support. Far from it.
I would love for our teams to win a Regional or State Championship. It has not happened in 23 years but it could happen.
Complete support for our teams at GRC means that we believe that each of them can achieve great success. This success can be a winning season, district championship, regional championship, or state championship. However, fans do a disservice to their teams when they limit their potential for the upcoming season.

Went ahead and did the leg work there for you Champ!

Feel free to check it out and see what I wrote. I think that ought to sum it up.
I read that previously.
I disagree with you. The talent is there to have a winning season and a district championship.
Do you believe that our boys are not able to cut the mustard?
-
The fact is the coaching staff is hard at work preparing the team for the season and despite your claims of disorganization and lack of communication. The program rolls on without you.
I stand by my sources about the issues.
You believe that Riddle cannot have a winning season and I believe that he can.
I believe in the football program with Riddle as its leader. Do you?
-
Supporting a coach and being realistic about potential wins and losses are not mutually exclusive.
I would agree with you if GRC had the same head football coach from the previous season but not when a new head football coach arrives for his initial season.
-
Its a prediction on the season, nothing more - nothing less. And while you view yourself as the "Champion for the cause", you need to go back and look at your posts as being the instigator in this bizarre thread.
I have asked questions that the community has about our new coach. I have also passed along information that other community members have gathered about our new coach.
What rule of BGP did I break by doing that???
-
Lay off the personal comments and stick to football.
Back to football.
MNCM, you were quoted as saying that there is no way that GRC would have a winning football season in 2014.
How does that support Riddle in his first year as head coach at GRC?
-

Since you lack any semblance of commitment to support of the program - you are dismissed.
Thank you for playing and please try again.
I hope all the other posters realize that GRC for Life tripe is what damages programs and will strive for better. I know I will.
Just so that I have it.
You still haven't answered the question about your lack of support for Riddle winning games this season.
-
Nice try again! Thanks for playing!
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Is that the best you got?

If you have such close sources as you say, then they should be able to answer for you alot of the questions you have posted here....?????
You say it is about the kids, I am not getting that impression from you with all of your question about the new coach. IMO it seems it is more about the new coach. I have been a GRC supporter for many years and ALWAYS support the coaches and staff. I may not agree with everything they do, but you will not find that with any coach and staff. With me and NMCM it is about the kids. Heck I root for our rival teams kids to do well.
You may be just a over anxious fan just wanting to see what GRC will have this year. As I stated in another post, have patience and GO CARDS.
These sources have the same questions that I do.
Fans can support the players while having questions about their coach, especially a new coach.
I have supported every GRC coach as well. I support Riddle.
Here are posts 18 and 20 from this thread. You responded to TheSodFather.
I think 4 wins is wishful thinking, the only "guaranteed" W I see on there is Rowan, a maybe pull out a win against Lafayette or Tates Creek. Don't think they touch Henry Clay, Anderson, Boyle, Scott Co or Bourbon Co. They'll still struggle this yearI agree. Bourbon Co , don't think so. They were really good last year and just got in a new transfer. HC again believe this will be another loss. Maybe Moco will be a win.Are you supporting Riddle by believing that he will not have a winning season in his initial campaign?
-
Looking at this schedule there is a real possibility for another 2 win season. Best scenario is a 4 win season.
It does not appear that you are supporting Riddle, MNCM?
-
Nice try. We have all just had a good laugh. Keep on keeping on grasshopper
Yet you believe that Riddle will manage no more than 4 wins this season.

I have followed all GRC sports very closely for decades and often use the scrimmage quote to weed out trolls and people who do nothing but instigate. Congratulations on noticing because it discounts anything else you have to say.
While you can make wild claims about district championships then complain that the coach won't have anything in place once the season begins nullifies any points you might have had. It really makes me feel bad for you.
I am just the messenger. My sources are very close to the program. I stated previously that we would not know until August when full pads start that Riddle could better evaluate his players.
This is about the kids. It always has been. I hope for their sake that everything is properly implemented prior to August 23.
One final comment. My comments have been very respectful towards the program as well as individual posters on this board. Continuing to attack me with your comments will not help the football program. The questions that I ask can be multiplied 100 times by others in the community. The community asks for more information about the assistant coaches, preseason and regular season schedules, and probable starters over the next 2 to 3 weeks.
-
Your posts are becoming more ridiculous as each day goes by. We understand you have some issue with the coach and that is fine - to each his own. But your demand for information at this stage is asinine and embarrassing.
Your sources would easily tell you that the team is still in development phases and won't start contact drills until August 1st. Why you (or anyone) would expect a brand new coach to start discussing potential starters without this determination baffles me. When COACH Riddle determines it is time for the release of information he will do that through his players, staff and the local media.
If you are so unhappy, by all means contact the Athletic Director at GRC. I can assure you he would LOVE to hear your concerns and have a good laugh. It would certainly brighten his day.
Keep On Keepin On grasshopper
I wish great success for Riddle. Might I remind you that you are the one who predicted very few wins for Riddle's team while I predicted a winning season and a district championship.
It was also your comment that stated that tbe team has always had 2 scrimmages each year. Apparently, you have not followed GRC football as closely as what you believe that you do.
It is quite apparent that you are becoming quite emotional by your comments. If I have offended you in some way, then I apologize.

I keep thinking of Romeo Crennel.
He was an assistant coach or defensive coordinator in college and the NFL for 30 years before he became a head coach with Cleveland. It takes a certain level of expertise to have been an assistant for so long while making a successful transition to head coach.
I wish Riddle great success at GRC. I hope he knows what he is doing for the sake of our boys.
-
Be patient. There is always a article sometime in Aug about the football team, with pictures and coaches. Contact Keith Taylor at the Winchester Sun, I am sure he will tell you the release date.
It is my understanding that the pace on the field is questionable as well.
This is Riddle's first job as a head coach. My sources tell me that he is going to be hard pressed to have all 3 aspects of the team ready by August 23rd.
-
As a community we care about our boys. We understand the write-ups about Riddle's background with UK and connection to Bill Curry at UK and Georgia State. It is time to tell us about the football program.
Who are the assistant coaches and what are their backgrounds?
What is the football schedule prior to the game with Rowan County on August 23? Will there be a football camp or a scrimmage game? If so, when and where will they be?
Sometime in August, Riddle could talk about the boys after he has had time to evaluate the talent in full pads.
-
Keith Taylor does a great job with his writing style.
I hope that he continues writing about the football program over the next few days.
Another article about Riddle and the UK program.
Still no discussion about GRC other than the continued discussion about discipline.

Jack knows the rules, I bet whatever is going on, it is within the rules
I think he knows the rules behind the doors at the KHSAA office.
There will be little if any punishment from the KHSAA for this.

What a great article! Thanks for posting!
Keith Taylor does a great job with his writing style.
I hope that he continues writing about the football program over the next few days.

I disgaree with the rules. I understand it is about safety. I have been around this game a long time and pads are not the issue with heat related injuries. It is poor judgement.
Do you also disagree with the heat index chart rules that the KHSAA provides regarding the removal of helmets and shoulder pads?

Any chance the picture in the paper is a file photo from last year and the comments made in error?
:no::no::no:
Why would they use a file photo for the front page of the Paducah Sun?
-
Another one.
Now that the McCracken County football team is allowed to wear shoulder pads during practice, head coach Jack Haskins has begun to get a feel for w...
For the three practice days in shoulder pads and helmets, there can be no contact with other players, only with sleds and dummies.
Clear proof that a coach is watching contact take place on Tuesday, July 22.

You must have been writing your post while I was writing mine.
I predicted that they would win between 4 and 7 games in the regular season. I did not state that they would win every game.
If you are a GRC football fan then you should know that this group is going to do great things.
What is most shocking is, as a GRC fan, why do you not know this already?
