Yes i agree with bettering your own perfesional situation but just wanted to see people's opinions of if they thought it was a "better" choice to leave Dayton. Holmes is in a bigger division but Dayton is reaching their prime and with the new divisions should cause some big talk this year.

Three years might seem like a long time to some and short for others for developing a program. Do you think he was finished with developing Dayton?

But wouldn you think a coach would finish one " step" before moving to another.

Ya he is a teacher at Dayton Elementry.... he used to coach at Dayton, but left for a job coaching Thomas More. He left there and now doesnt coach at all.

So far i have only heard of two people applying for the job, Zach Deaton and Nick Rice???? What do you think about the two??????

Do you think Hightchew's shoes will be to much for him to fill. Will he meet the expectations that Hightchew set last season?

Ellis did play D too. I think defensive end mostly but i remember seeing him in a couple diff. positions all year.

I can see that losing hightchew would effect the offence and special teams but dont know about the defence. I see alot of starters both ways returning for Dayton but Bellevue lost Justin Ross and Adam Tagg both starting running backs and leading scorers. Justin also had the the tackling record for the tigers, so i see them struggling the most. The Panthers are also returning many of their starters and should have a smooth transition keeping on the improving track into next season.

I agree that Deaton would be a fantastic choice. I know Dayton football and the players and there is no real emergancy with getting kids in the weight room. There are plenty of kids and as far as numbers go, that doesnt win football games. Dayton is a small school and is currently getting the best out of it.

Well Poet I'm going to have to strongly disagree with your statement about stepping backwards. How do you figure it is a step at all let alone backwards?

The Devils are returning the core of their team back only losing four or five seniors from last year, I think they will only improve. Don't get me wrong Zach is a great candidate and a good coach.

I saw this game and it was very well played on both parts. The lead switched back and fourth all game and came down to the final seconds. The Devils had David Foster and Chris Highchew foul out in the fourth courter. This played a big role in the outcome considering they where the two top scorers for the Devils that night with 14 and 13 point

i think they need to build a good base. get the core of their team knowlegable about the game of football. its one thing to be big and strong but its another to not be mentally prepared.

I think the recent success for the Devils will continue no matter who the coach is, although Zach would be a very good choice for the Greendevils

there are really no prospects for the job at dayton so far..... lickert has not turned in his letter of concent so the job is currently not OPEN.
