  1. Yep Ahrens is a senior (the older Ahrens) and she's working hard to try to make it back for the second half of her senior season but it'll be a quick return if it can happen at all and will only be tried because of her being a senior.Crawford is only a junior so is even less likely to make it back this coming season but is also a chance to return late in the season. And the loss to transfer is not a done deal yet either so we'll just have to see how it all plays out.Good luck to all the girls from Bracken and elsewhere.Just happy to see Basketball ready to start!!
  2. Bracken pretty much dismantled themselves.Very dissapointing loss.
  3. Best wishes and prayers to the girls and their families from this Bracken County resident and family. These incidents are such a tragedy and anytime these great kids are involved it certainly touches the heart. So very sad to hear this news!
  4. Nice win to start the season!!:ylsuper:Keep it up Lady Bears!:walk:
  5. The Bracken Lady Bears will be back next year showing everyone who cares to see ..just exactly what they are made of.This is a very competitive group of ladies and they will only lose one player for next season and altho Brittany will be a huge loss in leadership and just a fine example of being a wonderful young lady...they will be back even stronger next year. They lost many close games this year that they will be able to win with another year of experience and maturity.Keep working hard Lady Bears and I believe next year you'll see the fruits of the hard work pay off.Good luck to Mason and St.Pats and especially good luck to Brittany J. who has been a wonderful example for all the younger girls on this team this year!:thumb:
  6. I agree the Lady Bears played their hearts out and you could see the sheer determination during the second game as they actually showed some signs of fatigue! These girls are a well knit unit and to add to the previous post they also had some very good minutes from the non-starters that helped them over the top.Keep on playing hard Lady Bears and I do believe this program is coming around and we should see more and more of this type of play and the wins will certainly come for the JV and Varsity also!Great job ladies!:ylsuper:
  7. I'm not sure who but I know the when...2:45 and then if they win they play the championship 30 mins after the conclusion of their first game.:ylsuper:
  8. Great scrappy effort from both teams and the Lady Bears never quit!Good game Lady Bears, now go show what you are made of tomorrow!Congrats and Good :ylsuper: Luck!
  9. I think the info you are looking for is posted on the other thread named the same as this one!I asked the same question about info getting to the paper and Coach Schultz said she calls it in religiously the day after (or day of) the game to the Maysville Ledger so I'm not sure why it isn't always in the paper.
  10. Yep I believe a few LadyBears are also nursing some bumps and bruises. In the past the BC team has been able to be intimidated by bigger tougher teams but I believe that is now a thing of the past. The BC team really does have enough bench (altho all young) to match up in any type of game and I think we'll see them very successful in the future.Hats off to Miss Rogers on a very well played game and a wonderful night.Sure hope all the PC gals recover quickly and best of luck to them in the remainder of the season!:ylsuper:
  11. I also agree that the districts should be seeded and not just a blind draw.Smaller schools will have to work harder to get better and make the tourney but the better teams should deffinantly be rewarded and also be representing their districts. The tourney should deffinantly be the best of the best playing for the top spot!:thumb:
  12. Thank you so much for the stats and I believe they are pretty dang close. The only name I'm having trouble figuring out is Workman..I don't believe there is a Workman on either BC team.Could have been a Roberts,Mains,or even a second Ahrens (8th grade) and I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the players that were not mentioned. As far as C.Ahrens she is every bit of 6'2" court height (shoes on) and a newer player to the game (2nd year). Thanks again for the stats and I hope I'm not incorrect about a player named Workman but I'm reasonably sure I'm correct.
  13. Congrats to the Lady Saints! We get another shot at them Feb. 2 at our house so we'll see if we do any better then. The Freshman girls are a very talented group and our Sophmore class is also a very capable group. With just 1 Senior and 2 Juniors on the team we just seem to lack that player who can take the team and carry it (or lead it)when needed. We'll still win some games this year and should be much better in the future.Anyone have access to the box score for this game?
  14. I'm also picking the LadyBears and it should be just about gametime!!!:ylsuper:
