That is true. However, this would only be a once in a while thing giving schools that would otherwise never get together a chance for something a little different. It would not be forced on anyone, it just might be fun to do once every two or three years to give the kids a unique experience. Isn't there a team outside of your area you would really like to see your boys get a chance to play? If $1 was added to the ticket price by the host school, most if not all of the added expenses would be covered.

That would never be resolved, and if it truely could be, we wouldn't have anything to talk about on here.

That sounds like a great program. It clearly teaches great lessons even for those that might not get the chance to play sports at the next level. They are learning to sell themselves honestly...something they will need to do for the rest of their lives.

Good points, but as the idea would expand, the hosting team would, I hope charge minimally for the use of a field that would be dark anyway. It would also give people from different areas a chance to see two teams play that they would never see otherwise.

my thought was more along the lines of using a field turf field that is not being used on a given Friday night. Example: Highlands plays an away game at Dixie. Two teams from opposite ends of the state (about 2 hours from Ft Thomas) get together there. Say Ashland v E-Town. If one of them traveled to the others home field, it would be a 4 hour drive each way. This way each team drives 2 hours each way, and the opportunities to play teams from all over increases by a bunch. You would only want to do this once or at the most twice a year, but because you are not tied into a home and home with the other team, it would increase the number of different teams you would see over the years. This could be done all over the state.

With all of the new field turf around the state, both at the high school and college venues, it seems it would be possible for teams that would be four hours apart normally, to find a half way spot to set up shop. A two hour drive isn't bad for the teams or their fans. How many teams are 2 hours from Lexington, Ashland, Bowling Green, Louisville, etc? As it stands now, if Ashland and BG want to get together, it is a day trip for someone. If they meet in Lexington...it would be no big deal.
