So college football for middle school sized guys. 😂
I believe Mueller played it in college. It is a bigger thing in the northeast. I think it’s pretty cool addition and opportunity for some guys. I’m not saying you’re knocking it.

I stumbled across this but both schools will add sprint football as sports. They are part of a new conference/league. Sprint football has a weight limit of 178 lbs for players. I don’t think either college has named a HC.

According the the 19-20 KHSAA audited numbers Grant is at 516 male enrollment. There are only three 5A programs smaller I believe those 3 asked to play up. Highlands is one of those 3. Breckinridge is at like 495 and there is a Louisville school. About 24% of 4A has a larger enrollment (Johnson Co is around 570) than Grant. So they are basically a 4A team in a 5A district with two district opponents trending toward 6A (Fredrick Douglas and Great Crossing).
Past the district opponents most of the schedule is against similar size rosters and makeup. A majority of the offense will be going into their third year as starters. Unless things change they’ll always have to play some young guys or guys a little sooner.
Going back over I think their last 12 games they have played Douglas and Scott Co a total of 5 times. 4 of the other games of course were MoCo and Great Crossing (which according to social media has a large number of college prospects including the Perry kid). It will be interesting to see how that experience pays off for the 21 season.

Scott Co game is on Thursday 10/7

I heard the offense got excited if they could get positive yards during team. When you face a defense like that everyday you’re going to get really good on offense.
-
The 2020 Trinity defense was insanely good. There aren’t many defenses that put a lockdown on teams like they could.

He is a rising sophomore? With the way they run that weight room he will be jacked by his SR year. Granted he has to eat to do it but that’s a struggle with a majority of HS athletes.

Grant Co game has been moved to 10/7.

The new player that just transferred in. Is he from West Jessamine?

From this article posted yesterday, Gus is the man at QB. I would think Bennie Hill is RB. Dasani Lane possibly at wildcat or jet sweep. You also have Nolan Hunter and Griffin Henderson along with Patterson all over 6’5 at WR. And speedy Riley Huff at slot. And a Kicker that hits 40-50 yard FG’s. How do you stop that?

There are some districts that haven’t said a word to the individuals in their district.

Congratulations to him. That is a great set up

Whoever gets this job has a what appears to be a very good schedule to work with.

Do we know which schools did not vote? I’m not looking for who voted which way but just who decided not to vote at all. There are a number of better answers than what happened.

I don’t watch WC games, so wait are you telling me they never punt and always kick onside kicks that’s insane.
Research Kevin Kelly out of Arkansas. While WC isn’t Pulaski Academy it is an analytic choice.

Is there a rotation to the sister districts or are the same two districts always paired together? I’m wondering what it will look like if passed.
-
Well the email over the listserv sure makes it look like they want applicants. I don’t think there are a ton of jobs that give their HC what Mason Co does.

It will not affect many students in a school. I would say 15-20 at the most. If they have to transfer they cannot play sports so this will stop many from leaving. This is not the same rule they have in college where everything is open!
Why can’t they play? They are moving for academic reasons.

Is he class of 22? What positions does he play for Douglas?

Most Danville folks I have talked to are not happy with the hire. I think Mark Peach is a good coach but I agree the situation he is walking into is a mess. I tend to agree with @ATLCat, he is not better than the coach they just fired so what's the point. There was one Danville alum whose hiring may have smoothed things over better than they are but I heard he didn't get an interview. Just a big mess across town right now.
How many coaches in general are better than the one they just fired? It’s like with HHS where the better coaches in general it would be a lateral or step down all things considered.
Peach is a good coach. If Danville is looking for someone to come in and take them back to state title contention right now well I think administration in general messed that up. How that whole thing was handled has thrown up all kinds of red flags.
-
They’re not getting The Old Ball Coach. More than likely it will be someone already on staff or maybe a first time HC. Peach kind of landed in their lap. It’s a step down or a lateral move for most coaching.

Could be one of the best jobs in Western Kentucky. Hope they pick soon as Spring Practice is coming up soon.
I don’t know much about the job. What makes it one of the best in western Kentucky?

I think it depends in part on your cutoff on measurables are. I’ve know kids that wouldn’t even be looked because they were 2” too short. For every 5’9” Coastal Carolina center there are a ton of kids that don’t get a shot. I’ve also know kids that got chances because they are 6’4”. You have to have the tape to back it up as others have said. Film wise some players put together some bad Hudl highlights they send out.
There are some very good smaller programs that built very successful teams by going after those guys that are a couple of inches short or considered to lite. There are some guys that get a chance despite certain measurables because they have great tape. In most of those cases it kids with really top end speed and quickness.
Its certainly not an exact science. I think we’ve all seen kids get offers that we scratch our heads about or wonder why another kid isn’t getting looked at.

All KHSAA rules are still in place. No transfers for athletic reasons. My understanding, the answer to your question is no.
While me might all know it would be for athletic purposes how do you prove it? One district doesn’t allow students to repeat. A parent says they want their child to repeat. They transfer the student to a school that allows students to repeat. How do you prove it?

SCOTUS Rules in Favor of Athletes

They can already do this. A scholarship is a year to year contract. A school and decide not to renew a scholarship of a player. They can also dismiss a player (though not for performance issues). So while it’s not common a school can “fire” a player.
I haven’t gone this this thread so this may of come up. Taxes can get real messy/confusing real fast. Also some schools I’m sure are going to use the tax advantages of certain states to their advantage. FL, TX and TN all have no income tax I believe. Then you get into if you do a signing or some other business in one state but you go to school or a resident of another state it can get messy.
As far as the OSU study goes it would be interesting to see how they came up with that number. The program generates that money not really the athlete. Plenty of 4 and 5 star kids don’t pan out. There are 2 and 3 star kids that move ahead of those 4 and 5 stars. OSU is viewed as a top program and has a large fan base. By default the program is going to generate large amounts or money and attract high level recruits. Add in their recent success means more/higher paying bowl games, TV contracts and so on it can skew the value of that 4 and 5 star recruit.
Now don’t get me wrong I think you see it more in basketball that a series or group of high level athletes can be worth a large amount of money. The Fab Five generated an extremely large up swing in money going to Michigan.
