  1. There is kind of a cascade effect that can happen. For example, if both Highlands and Cov Cath moved down then it basically forces two teams to move up.  If Great Crossing and Douglas moves up to 6A then two previous 6A teams would move down. So there is a degree of shuffling that happens once the top and bottom enrollment 32 happen. Then add in teams asking to play up or down due to factors.

In the end it’s the teams on the upper and lower cusp that would move. Some districts grew during Covid and some took a pretty good hit enrollment wise. Since enrollment numbers got jacked up during Covid they are using a formula to determine enrollment that is different than in the past. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a little bit larger number of requests to move classes due to districts saying the enrollment numbers aren’t accurate based on the formula.

When your teams are being tested you still have to coach and play with class whether you win or lose.

I agree. I wasn’t there so I honestly cannot comment either way on this years game. As far as throwing the ball deep when you’re up big that can be a little more complex. On that one fans and coaches can get a little worked up over.

MoCo is getting ready to go through 2-3 pretty brutal games.

  3. Like was stated before this is the same offense and style they used for a number of years before coming to Dixie. The offense takes a good year for it to start clicking. Even once they players truly get it it will look clunky at times. It’s just how the offense works. Kind of think of it as a coach coming in and installing the triple option. There is a larger learning curve to it.

I believe you could have a full roster but the sidelines were still extended further down that normal.

The 10 yard to 10 yard line thing was for sure and it appears will be the norm now. For a very large amount of the state having 80+ on the sideline isn’t an issue. It was just how Tackett phrased it during the rules clinic that made it appear it might of been still in effect.

He had to have (somehow) thought there were no good angles of the hit he took. That would be incredibly stupid seeing as the play literally finished at his feet.

This will permanently tarnish his reputation. I’d like it if no schools granted him access to the field.

Between the two teams filming (and with multiple angles) and the NFHS network film of it there had to be good footage/angles. Completely agree very stupid to think there aren’t multiple good views of what happened. On top of all of that the film would show the sideline conditions.

Whats the rules on kids not enrolled in a school participating in a team practice?

Can’t do it. You have to be officially enrolled to practice.

I am guessing you mean a kid that is not yet an official student of, in this case, Carroll county. It also kind of depends on what you call a practice. So a rising freshman would not be enrolled in the HS yet. They could do certain activities that some might consider practice even though it’s not really practice.

Now if you are referring to a HS student taking part in activities but who is not officially enrolled then that is pretty much a no go.

  7. I had heard of possibly spin-offs 1-3. I was really hoping for 1. I think you’re right that it might of been too much. It will be interesting if that pilot ever leaks though it will be too short to give anyone a real feel.

Sadly I think we’ll never get that information from what that series was going to be. I just personally find the north and that part of the lore more interesting. There is from what I hear some bits and pieces in the books.

The original GoT pilot had to be reshot and I believe some roles recast. I’ve never read the books but they did a pretty amazing job casting the show.

I agree. What would this do to Jefferson County School Choice plan where students can go out of district to magnet or better performing schools?

Since all those schools are part of the JCPS I don’t think it will affect them. Now if a kid who lives on the edge of Jefferson county (who lives in the JCPS area) decided to go to a neighboring county school because it was closer or whatever reason then that player would sit. It would basically work how it does now for districts with open enrollment within the district’s schools.
