Glad to see this kid get a chance. He's always seemed like someone that would make the best of it if given the opportunity. IMO, he'll earn his scholly and make some noise out west, before it's all said and done.
Are you saying Greenup only has 25 kids out this year, or are you reffering to the two smaller schools? If Greenup only has 25 kids out there is something wrong.
There wouldn't be a debate if the fans of other schools weren't so concerned with who broadcasts Ashland's games. This isn't a topic of concern among the Ashland faithful.
It's been a few years since I've been in the Naples/Ft. Myers area, but Naples High School was the cream of the crop of that particular area. From what I remember Estero High usually has a good program also. Barron Collier was a quickly rising program, they may be as good as anyone down there these days.
The subject of Ashland's radio crew has been beaten to death. So to keep it simple, if you dont like them, you dont have to listen to them. It's not like your paying their salary and have a legit complaint.
Im not completely sure, so Im not going to give you a definite answer, but I'll try and find out. If I had to guess though, I would say most but not all are recognized by a neutral party. They are all listed at Putnam and also in the programs featured throughout the year.
No clue. It happened 50+ years before I was born. I suppose they could have taken the state champion from whichever states could afford to send a team, and played a tourney with what was left. But honestly I have no idea.
How can you say Ashland doesn't 'help' carry this banner you speak of? I dont even know what your talking about but whatever it is, I can assure you Ashland carries their share of it.
I think most of the people here making a big deal about Prickett aren't so much bragging about him being a good coach, as they are saying his name alone generates attention. Having someone like Prickett on your coaching staff can cause kids that normally wouldnt be playing for said school, to start migrating into that district.
Does anyone know if Ashland ever talked to Prickett once Flynn's job opened up? Or had Russell already snagged him by then? From what I remember he just moved to Ashland a few months ago.
