Coach Stellman also left quite a schedule for the coach coming in .... the new 6A district schedule, plus, Meade County, Johnson Central, Highlands, Holmes. At least he turned down Colerain who offered him quite a sizeable amount to play.

Boone usually doesn't like to play that last playoff game of the year due to the varsity being in the playoffs. Good problem for Boone.... Bad for Conner .... The last couple of years this game has tried to be played on Labor Day weekend but scheduling and communication problems have nixed this game in the past couple of years.

Why is this game being played at Newport? thought the championship game --- home field advantage is based on record and since Holy Cross is undefeated......?

I believe it is a "mythical" championship going to the team with the best record.
