  1. Who won the Meece VS Clay 8th grade game.
  2. Saturday, Oct, 20th 12:00 PM @ South Laurel Middle School, starts 7th grade conference play between South Laurel and Meece Middle, the next game Corbin and Clay Co. This should be a exciting weekend of Middle School football.
  3. As always South Laurel and Meece will be a great game to watch. If anyone likes Middle School Basketball this is a game to mark on your calender.
  4. I found out tonight that Corbin's, QB Smith, will not return this season and their back up QB Vorbeck, is out for the season. I really hate that for these kids they are good young men.
  5. Souths, first game is Northern Pulaski, November 8th.
  6. South Laurel, has pretty much the same team as last year.
  7. South Laurel 7th grade beat a very good Perry Centrals 7th/8th grade team tonight 44-26 This improved their record to 8-0 on the year.
  8. North Laurel and Clay Co. plays Thursday night. I thought Meece's 8th grade was the number #1 seed, Corbin #2 seed, Clay Co. #3 ,and north #4. 7th grade South Laurel 1# seed, Corbin 2# seed, Clay Co. 3# seed and North Laurel 4# seed. Championship games played at Meece, on Oct. 25th.
  9. South Laurels 7th grade won 49-19 over Knox Central in the Jumble Rumble Bowl. South had 6 different kids score touch downs in the game.
  10. Southern KY, area Meece or Corbin 8th grade. South Laurel or Whitley Co. 7th grade. I would have to take Meece 8th and South Laurels 7th. Meece and Corbin played with Meece winning. Corbin did not have their starting QB, he was out hurt. South Laurel and Whitley Co. unfortunately will not play this year, to settle the best 7th grade team. It would be a great game Souths, defense is fast and their offense is quick scoring. Whitley is a big, powerful teams, with a very good offense and defense.
  11. Can't wait for basketball season to start. Down here in the southern part of Kentucky, looks like Whitley Co., will give South Laurel and Meece, 7th grade a run for their money.
  12. Meece and South Laurel, plays this week at Meece. This is always a great basketball match up, so it should be a great football match up as well.
  13. South Laurel 7th grade beat Clay Co. 20-6 tonight. To improve to 5-0 for the season.
  14. Knox Central Played several 8th Graders against South Laurel, 7th Grade team. Thats according to Knox Centrals, Parents and Coaches. South Laurels, defense and special teams played well today. Their offense is good, QB's mobile and he has a strong arm and several good receivers to throw too. This makes South Laurel, hard to defend in open field. Their best running back " Pennington" is out for 4 to 6 weeks. This was a good win for South Laurel, handle KC, from the kick off. After having hard fault games against North Laurel and Corbin.
  15. The Truth is now in the D1 13u pool. Should be a interesting tournament.
  16. They played with Rose Hills 7th grade, in the 7th grade Middle School Tournament at the KBA this year. I watch them play Leslie County. Leslie Co. had a few guys standing 6'2 to 6' 4". If their not 6' 5" to 6' 7" their close. All I wanted to know "are these guys" on their 13U team. :thumb: By the way, they could be 14 years of age and playing 'AAU 13U. They could turn 14 years of age after Sept. 1st of last year. So they could be going on 15 year of age. I saw the kid. They call 'Baby Shack, at a Mid -America, BCI tournament, 13 years of age "stood right "at 6'11". playing 14U. He also played with a 6' 10" kid. If your ever at the BCI, in Florance, Ky ask Dave Clevenger. I saw a 6' 1" 12 yr old 6th grader from Houston TX, at the Adidas Camp in San Diego, CA. 2 years ago. South Laurel has a young man that stands over 6' 2" 12 years old. He plays on their black team 'I think. Yes these kids could be over 6' 5" 2 years. Thanks for the sarcasm!
  17. Rose Hill, had 2 big men 6' 5" @ 6' 7". are they on the N. Ky Royals ? PG's is very good from Rose Hill.
  18. South Laurel, plays them Friday night.
  19. Thanks, is this the Rose Hill, team.
  20. Does, any one know any thing about the NY Royals. Thanks !
  21. Uncle Joe, watched Lex. Cath and South Laurel this weekend at Hoops. Lex. Cath beat South Laurel by 3 points, 47 to 50 in pool play. South lost to Suns by 36 in the finals. South had one of their better players sprang his ankle in tournament play. They were playing their 4th game of the day by the final game. They had the 6th grade PG "Sanders" playing with them. Lex. Cath as always very well coached. This team is one to watch out for they can play with any D 1 team. South Laurel, will struggle against the better athletic teams. Their Pg is very strong and handles the ball great. The kid that got hurt is a must for them to be even remotely competitive.
  22. Thanks qryche11, for the extra information. Growth will be an important asset to all these guards. Grover and Sanders is the two best PG in the Southern end of the state 6th or 7th grade. Grover lead Somerset this year to a 1 loss in their 6th grade Middle School season. Their only loss was to South Laurel's 6th grade team. Sanders lead South Laurel 6th grade to a 40-1 season. Their only loss was to the 6th grade Somerset team. South Laurel did take a loss to GT Thunder in tournament play in Florence back in November. South Laurel and Somerset played good competition out side their school schedule. Sanders and Grover two very solid PG for the future in Southern KY.
  23. Uncle Joe great post on the D-1 teams. I agree Hatcher, Hicks, Portwood, Robinson and Mc Farland great bigs. I really think all these bigs have a great up side in the future. Hatcher was a man child on the boards for the Ville. Portwood and Mc Farland played very well for the Thunder. Hicks and Robinson run the floor great for bigs. "Guard play" Lowery, Sanders, Monroe, Clay, Jones and Hatton all these guards can play the game. Monroe, Hatton and Lowery can shoot great. Lowery, was on fire in the Tar Hill and Ville game making NBA 3 pointers. Missed a shot at the end of the game. Which could have sent the game in to over time. Clay and Jones, quick off the dribble. They can get to the hole fast. Sanders, strong off the dribble great handles and See's the floor great. I must throw in Grover, PG from the Somerset (40 points one game) what can you say! May be what an exciting future for KY High Basketball. I would take this team and go to war and play any one in the country. Sorry, if I left any one out please let me know.
  24. Who was some of the top rising players in the D-1 and D-2 tournament.
