  1. Since it is not KHSAA state tournament I guess they can make the tournament how they want. I actually do not understand why the BBALL and Volleyball regions and districts are not the same anyway.

I am not sure who organized it last year but it looks much different this year. It is too bad the Louisville tournament is at the same time but it is still a great opportunity for the small rural schools.

  2. I can not see where this is posted but the website has the format and pools listed for this tournament. All that has to happen are the regional tournaments to fill in the blanks.

It does appear that this year they will take 1 team from each region instead of 2 teams like last year.

  3. I do agree that club volleyball does pull talent from girls basketball and there are not too many players that are doing both, especially if they are the talented, taller ones. They could do both and I am not sure if it is the high school or club coaches who encourage that but I know that they make it difficult to do so. Club soccer also does the same thing and we see that as well in Oldahm Co - sad that they have to choose and cannot do both. I think that has hurt the number of quality of high school girls teams and why you have dominate powerhouses year fter year.

You really can not do both. The club tryout and practice season is in the Middle of Basketball season. I have tried to find a team that will start the club ball after March 8th but there is not one available. I can not imagine if we were allowed to have the Basketball girls play AAU ball right in the middle of the V-ball season.

I think that V-ball should not be able to start the clubs until after BBALL season. I think you might get more participation in both.

  4. Well - it is summer ball.. every team is missing key players. Carroll is missing 2 and most every team has gilrs out. But I definitely think that it is going to be interesting.

Carroll goes to Georgetown camp next week..I think they are taking 3 teams Fr, JV and Varsity. Coach Mefford is going to have his hands full.

I know WIlliamstown will be there, but have not heard who else is attending.

  5. Game 1: Shelby Defeats Carroll in a close contest until the end. Shelby ended up winning the game by 8 or 10 points I believe but the game was much closer then that. I know Carroll was missing some kids and I assume Shelby was too (although I didn't know of any missing). Guard play will be strong for Shebly. They are very quick and will spread you out looking to drive and kick. Not much inside for either team on this night....

Game 2: Anderson defeats Carroll in a close game. Anderson would pull out ahead a few points, then Carroll would come right back. Anderson hit a 3 with about 1:30 to go to basically put the game away. Cann played well for AC with around 20 points. AC was missing 2 starters in this game as well.

Very good showing by Carroll.. they were missing 2 starters and a 6th man and played most of the young girls. Teamwork is the key for them. Good defense.

  6. From what I understand, Gallatin County is doing well without Brooke Hill. She's not at this camp. The Lady Wildcats are VERY YOUNG!! Haven't heard about Carroll. That would be L1!!:thumb:

Carroll looked good, they won the Camp tournament tonight without 2 starters. I was very surprised at how well the young girls played and I saw a lot of teams that are really improving and working hard.

It was a really good camp and all the teams definitely got enough games in this week. GC definitely missed Hill but just like CC it was nice to see all the other girls step up.

Good luck to all the teams on the rest of their Summer ball!
