Goldie, you are such a treasure. Sending you the prayers and angels you’ve so often sent others.

Teachers in the State of KY have a union and cover each other’s back.
Have a fellow teacher who also so happens to be a coach be threatened of his job and all fellow teachers go to bat for him.
In this situation at Highlands, the current football coach (middle school teacher) has been eating lunch and buddies with a fellow middle school teacher (now new Highlands Athletic Director) for last 15 years together and now it’s time for buddy to fire buddy from coaching position because buddy can’t get the job done, not happening.
Your right, nothing to see here move along.
I don’t expect you to understand because again you are outside looking in and don’t know all of the dynamics involved.
It’s a Highlands Football thingy. Re read my earlier posts and you should be able to connect some dots.
Teachers in the state of Kentucky do not have a union.
I may be on the outside of the Highlands situation, but I am on the inside of the “teacher situation”. Blaming teachers for what may or may not be happening with coaching hires is just silly.

I’ve been a teacher for 24 years in two different school districts. I have no idea what you are talking about. Teachers don’t decide who will be hired/fired as coaches.Teachers/Coaches are a union of one and have a voice and cover each other’s backs, period end of sentence. To be honest with you, it should be this way and I don’t have an issue with everyone sticking together as an administration but this has become embarrassing and comical if one doesn’t know any better.
No one on this site will ever change my opinions or passion for this program and school and I will do anything I can to help preserve and protect the program and the kids.
Just an outsider now looking in with a voice.

When the current administration puts their big boys pants on and makes the decisions without outside influences including the approval of the former coaching legend, then that’s when the change will be made.
No sooner no later.
As administrators they certainly can’t be pleased with the overall performance of the Football program. Administrators, teachers and coaches at Highlands have failed the kids by not giving them the very best opportunities available.
If they are content, which I eluded to earlier and believe is the case then the Football program has reached a new level of acceptance which does not include accountability or the desire to maintain the Traditions of the program.
Teachers? How do they figure into the football situation?

With current meds, I am not supposed to eat much greenery...I'll stick with a few green M&M's for money luck!
I’m positive that will work just as well!

You have to eat something green so that you will have a lot of “greenbacks” in the new year.

I thought it was solid. A coworker asked if I had read the books (I have not), and he said that the show stays pretty true to the story line. He believes there will be 3 or 4 seasons in total.
I liked it, too. I couldn’t binge it all in one setting due to it being pretty dark.

What’s it about?
It’s medieval fantasy about warring kingdoms mixed in with magic. It has monsters, mages, along with some elves, dwarves and dragons. But, it centers around a young princess and a “Witcher” who is trying to find her to keep her safe.

Anyone watch this? I just finished it and really liked it.

Again, here are the BGP rules that all agreed to when you signed up:

No comments about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact Kentucky High School Athletic Association | KHSAA – Student-athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

Again, I understand that. I guess, to me, it's just about the perception. Ultimately though, Georgetown says it costs xyz dollars per year to educate a student. If Toyota had stepped forward and said we'll provide a scholarship for every Scott County student that wants to go to Georgetown, the college is still getting their xyz dollars per year for that student. It's just that this time it's Toyota footing the bill instead of the student (or their ma and pa).
However, in this instance, the college is the one providing the scholarship. But, in essence, aren't they saying "we don't need xyz dollars to educate this student"? And you're right, they've got other funding sources that can probably cover that. In essence they're taking it from their right hand and putting in their left hand. But, if they can afford to do that, why do they maintain that they still need xyz dollars from everyone else in order to attend?
It just seems to me that there's only two ways they can afford to do it...1) they've built up enough of a "slush fund" over the years, either by spending wisely or overcharging previous students, or 2) it really doesn't take xyz dollars today to educate a student.
All I'm saying is, if 25 kids decide to take them up on the offer, that's a million dollars a year. And if I'm writing a $40k check to the college each year, I'd be wondering how they're able to do that.
BTW, I'm not against the kids getting it. I'm all for students getting an education without having to incur a six-digit debt. All I'm saying is that the optics of it aren't necessarily great.
Could it be #3, they are a business that can do with their profits what they wish?

It's a business like any other, correct? The model will either prosper or fail. I, for one, hope that it works.

I put out themed bathroom and kitchen towels. Does that count?
