  1. Hey I like Bird I think he runs hard. very impressed with him. All I am saying is I think the schedule has given Trimble a false images about how good they are. I dont think jackson is a team that will get them ready for Danville. I wish trimble all the luck in the world.

Object of football is to win the game. Not be happy because you scored against a team. So if you are happy with scoring twice against Danville then I am happy for you.

You are right. The object of ANY game is to win. In that regard, no team has been "happy" against Danville yet, and likely no team will the entire year. When you go up against the #1 team in the state, you have to bring your "A" game and hope for the best. That's all you can do.

On another note, one thing I always enjoy about Danville is how classy the coach and the players are. In my opinion, that is one of the things that makes a top program and an additional reason of pride for them.

Keep up the good work Ads and best of luck Raiders. I personally will be happy as long as there are no injuries.

  2. He is a very solid player, but has not gone against the type of team he will face in Danville or Frankfort. Trimbles opp. record is 10-37 With first year Gallatin having the best at 3-4 three teams at 2-5 two teams at 0-7 and one team at 2-4 in 11 man football. I know you guys are all excited about your first winning season in forever, but you still have not played a team with a winning record. I hope you the best Friday night but be prepared for reality to set in over the next 3 weeks.

It has nothing to do with excitement. Trimble played Danville last year and Bird had a 50+ yd touchdown in the 2nd quarter (with the backup quarterback, who is actually a RB - original QB broke ankle). Bird's better this year. So is their whole team. I didn't say they were going to score 70 points on them, just that maybe everyone shouldn't count them out with all of their 10,000,000 to 0 predictions.

  3. It is my understanding that Genton left not because the locals "called for his head" but because he wanted to move up to being a school principal (which he is).

There's always a percentage of people that want to fire every coach for some reason. Yes, won the biggest game of the season, but because my kid didn't play the coach isn't doing a good job. Same old story.

Coach Poynter and the Raiders, keep up the good work and don't let the nay-sayers distract you. Football is fun in Bedford again because the kids know how to play and they can play, not because you are playing weak teams. Good luck against the Ads.

  4. You're right to some degree. We will see how they hang with Danville and Frankfort. However, they do have wins against teams that are not new, such as Carroll and Eminence. Admittedly, both teams are not as strong (relatively) as they have been at times, but both teams beat Trimble last year. The point is, the program is headed in the right direction and has some talented kids.

  5. I was out of town for this one. Sounds like the Panthers stepped it up, after their dissapointing loss against Trimble County. How did Daniel Rose do?

Faced a tough Danville D. Still the best player in the NCKC (IMO)!

Thanks for the info, but I will have to disagree with you on that. When Trimble and Carroll played, David Bird "ruled the roost". He ran for over 300 yards and 4 TDs, which was more than CC's whole squad. Part of that was due to a solid offensive line that punched holes in the Carroll D, but Bird has a natural talent for running the ball.

However, I would rank Rose as the 2nd best player in the NCKC.

  6. What? You mean every attempt he has tried has been blocked?

And just because a kick has been blocked does not mean it is all the lines fault.[/quote

I think that he has attempted 2 FGs this year. One was blocked and I think there was a problem with the snap on the other.;) He made several last year, including one against Danville. I think that the reason that there has been so few attempts this year is because Trimble seems to be able to just about score at will with their good running back. That will change this week, though, because they are up against the Ads again.

You are right about the line, though. He would not have made the 10 extra points in their win the other night, had the line not blocked!

  7. I agree. The new coach there (in his 2nd year) has really made the difference. He has the community there all fired up! And it helps that he has some players, like Bird, to use as a weapon.

Look for Trimble to be a force in the playoffs next year.

I hear that Hawkes (another junior, i think) can flat lay some people out on D.

  8. Not sure what FHS team will show up. Carool is a tough place to play. They have some kids that can flat lay the wood to you. So if your not ready to play you could be down a couple of scores in a hurry.

I agree. Carroll is a tough place to play. Daniel Rose is a fine player and will be hard to stop. Carroll, though they play hard, tends to really rack up the penalty yards, which will hurt them. With that said, Frankfort will prevail 41-20.
