I do not think that the single A schools play a JV game except Beeechwood, but I could be wrong.

I also heard that Beechwood numbers are down also.

Bellevue and Dayton do not play a freshmen schedule. Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Bishop Brossart, Walton Verona, and I think Bracken County play a 9th and 10th grade schedule.

Siam Orchid in Alexandria off US27 is good and has nice size protions. Best Pad Thai I have found locally in NKY.

I think Beechwood was slotted to play with the 7 but opted to play with the other eight. I think there will not be a Championship because of the change in the allowed Varisty dates. I think they took off a week of the season.

Before you shoot me, I made some assumptions of some of the teams records based on their performance against other teams. So based on these assumptions, here is who plays who. There are 16 teams in the NKY Freshman League. They were split into East and West. This leaves each team with 7 "District games". There is then 2 weeks of none district play. It looks like most teams picked up rivals from the opposing district. Week 10 is when the Championship is played. I think One plays One, Two plays Two and so forth. But this is the first year in awhile that some of the smaller schools are playing with the 5a and 6a teams (Beechwood, NCC, Holy Cross, Newport, Lloyd), so I do not know if this format is going to be what happens for Week 10.

The small schools split into 2 divisions. (Beechwood, Holy Cross, NCC, Newport, Lloyd) (Bellevue, Dayton, Brossart, Ludlow, Walton) playing 9th/10th graders Because of this, it is my understanding that there will not be a small school championship.

What are Gallitan, Grant, and Pendleton doing as far as a Freshman schedules?

I do not think that the A/AA NKY Freshman group is having a championship game this year. With only 5 teams (Beechwood, Lloyd, NCC, HC, Newport), I do not see a championship having much meaning anyway. I have to agree with Mexitucky, having 5 teams play each other twice is not a good idea. I hope changes are made for next year.

Brossart Freshman will be playing a JV schedule just like the freshmen at Ludlow, Bellevue, Dayton, and Walton Verona. The talk of a merger between NCC and Brossart was discussed back in the early 1990' and it was stopped then. NCC is in the midst of funding raising that will include several new classes and the final goal is to but a artificial turf field on the hill. After spending that much time and effort, why would NCC want to combine with Brossart? As far as enrollment goes, I would assume they are hoping to have the same success as Holy Cross as far as increased enrollment that may be attributed to football. As far as having a field to play on for home games; Newport, Highlands, Beechwood, CovCath, and soon to be Thomas More all have artificial turf. Are telling me that Brossart will not be looking at these fields to play home games?

I remember reading an article on Zach Kiernan and Frank Jacobs stating that Frank Jacobs 1987 was one of six NCC players to be named "That's MY Boy." Rick Lehmkuhl 1991 was another. Who are the other 3? The Cincinnati "That's My Boy" has their own website. Is there one for NKY? If not, why not?

I am looking for a website that lists the past NKY "That's My Boy Award" Winners. If not, I am sure that the members will be able to come up with the complete list.
