Illinois is very weak...Most seem to think the Buckeyes are untouchable.. They were very average today..If they would have been playing a decent team, they woulda gotten hammered....I could certainly see UL playing with them...
-
Bethlehem will make a much better showing in the rematch...I still think the Tigers have too much for them, but, a couple of breaks in Bethlehems favor and you never know...I say Btown by 14
-
I think Henry Clay got there swagger and confidence back this week after the Lafayette loss...They'll take care of business in a big way...47-21
-
I think the Ads will come ready to play this game and make a better showing but will still fall a little short...Frankfort 21 Danville 14
-
Warren Central beat Marshall by a combined 32 points in two games .... a pretty good sign that they are significantly better.
Hey, I'm not a Marshall follower and the better team won...I'm just not sold on WC being that good..
-
Warren Central is about two touchdowns better than Marshall, in my estimation. And I agree that a 20-point lead with seven minutes shouldn't be whittled down to the point that you have to run out the clock to breathe a sigh of relief.
You're entitled to your opinion...I just disagree...I think WC is the better team but not much better...It just seems like teams like Hopkinsville, Tilghman, Christian who make a living on the big play never seem to blame the oppositions defense when they score on big plays, but, when MC does it, it must be some sort of breakdown...

How much time is left
-
If UK loses this game today, you can't blame the D...They've stepped up several times today and gotten key stops....The offense needs to find some rythem like they had early...Ga has made some half time adjustments and the Cats O needs to refind that early success...
-
Well, one of the TDs was an INT return where our DE made a great play on the ball and another of the 4th quarter TDs was after a very long drive. The only one you could construe a breakdown was when our tailback ran 4 yards forward into the defense, bounced back and cut to the outside and took off.
Look, I get what you're saying, and I'm not trying to put Marshall County down. But what do you want from me? Are you saying to me that if you're watching a team that is considered to be superior take a 20 point lead with 7 minutes left you're thinking to yourself, "Hmmm, here's a game that should come down to the last seconds." I am saying that Central should have had the game salted away. When I say breakdowns, I'm referring to the fact that they gave up scores of 66, 36, and another one that was immediately following about a 50 yard bomb. Those are big plays, and when you're up by that much, your one goal is not to give up those big plays. Underneath routes and smaller chunks of yards could have been given and it never would have approached that close.
Marshall played well and they stuck in there, and despite that I think Central had some breakdowns Marshall made the plays to get it close. I complimented Marshall on that. But IMO, Central should have been comfortable at the end.
I guess my point is, I don't think Wc is that much superior..I'm sure the Marshall faithful could find alot of woulda, shoulda, coulda things that would have made it a different ballgame...It just seems that when you talk about WC scores, you give them all the credit for the defense or long drive or whatever and then when Marshall scores, its a breakdown of some sort on WCentrals part...The way I look at it, you have to give credit where credit is due and I give WC credit for the win, but, I also give Marshall equal credit for there scores...I'm sure both teams feel they earned everything they got..

From what I hear, Lucas is a Heavy Maryland Lean, and Patterson is a heavy Florida lean.
Let's hope they lean toward the Cats when it's time to sign on the dotted line...

What I'm saying is that when Central moved up 33-14 in the 4th and then 41-21 with 7 minutes left, they should have been able to finish it off and keep it from being close. For the first half of the 4th it was Central exploding, not Marshall. In the first 5 minutes the Dragons outscored them 21-7 to take a 20 point lead. And then in the span of three minutes Marshall County scored two quick TDs on some poor coverage. Marshall made the plays, but I do feel that when you've got a team down by 20 points with that little time left that you should be able to finish it off without having to run around for 11 seconds so they don't get the ball back with a chance to win. It's not like I'm saying that the game itself shouldn't have been close, but when Central began to do that, I think it shouldn't have been.
Did you ever think Warren Centrals scores may have come against some poor coverage as well or some Marshall breakdowns....
-
I think they'll go to #4....and hope for a Florida loss....If they beat Rutgers next week, they could possibly move into the 3 spot...
-
Wasn't suprised with Woodford over Lafayette....the other 3..Yes.
I'm not an expert on either team, but, with Lafayette being unbeaten, the #1 seed and coming off a big win over Henry Clay, I was a little taken back by this outcome...

........................Mayfield....................Ballard
First Downs...............7............................9
Rushing Atts.............22...........................36
Rushing Yards...........189..........................114
Passing...............7-12-0.......................6-16-1
Passing Yards..........141...........................48
Total Yards............330..........................162
Fumbles/Lost...........2/2..........................2/1
Penalties/Yards.......10-90........................6-37
These stats are way misleading...Mayfield had 265 yds at the half compared to 7 for Ballard and -6 rushing...The entire 2nd half was played with the JV and freshmen and even the last series of the 1st half...Can't blame Coach Morris, though...Why risk an injury when the games in hand..Theres still alot of football to be played..

I have been leaning toward Raceland in the rematch, but, after the Paris game, I'm not so sure...LCA seems to be playing better and better each week..There youth is growing up after 11 games under there belt..Right now, I'm going to say LCA takes this one 28-21

Is there a station carrying the game on the internet?

I had a feeling about this one...I'm sticking by my prediction that Trigg wins the region...

Crazy game. Hats off to Marshall County for sticking in there. It was close through three quarters, then Central exploded in the fourth to take a 41-21 lead and then had to hold on as Marshall scored two TD's in a three minute span, but couldn't complete it as Central was able to kill the last two minutes to seal the victory. Truly, I don't think it should have been that close at the end, b ut again, hats off to the Marshalls for sticking it out.
How can you say that it shouldn't have been as close at the end...It was a tie game and you said yourself WC exploded in the 4th qtr and Marshall answered...Sounds like it could have gone either way till late in the game...
-
Murray's been playing some solid ball the past few weeks...I hope Mayfield doesn't come into this game thinking its going to be a cakewalk...There defense is good enough to keep them in the game and a few turnovers here and there and who knows....
-
Woodford Co over Lafayette, Prestonsburg over Sheldon Clark, Leslie Co over Breathitt Co and Graves Co over Christian Co..... These are the ones that stand out to me...
-
NCC is rolling as of late and could be making that late season run, ala 2005..I think they get there revenge for the regular season loss, much like they did with Holy Cross this past week...Only difference will be it'll be alot closer... NCC 27 Beechwood 17

Is this a final yet?
