  1. Get off the track, Howard has more yards on the season than earls, but earls has 3 more TD's and plays on a better offense with another really good back C.G Ford, two good Wr's Adams/Farr and a Qb who runs the ball around 10 times a game. Earls isn't as much of a one man show as Howard is and that will be obvious friday night when you see how Middlesboro distributes the football. This game isn't about a contest between Howard Vs. Earls its a contest between Middlesboro Vs. Leslie. And that is a contest Middlesboro has dominated in the past 10 years. Hope you make the trip to Middlesboro, should be a fun game to watch.
  2. I can't lie, Howard worries me a little, Jacket D better be ready to go. I don't think its so much that M'boro has a bad D, I just dont think they focus on D as much as O in regards to importance (film, practice, scouting). They better change that real quick. They for sure have enough talent to be a very stout D if they focus on it here towards the end of the season.
  3. Westsider, To clear up your confusion Middlesboro didn't play Bell County this year so trying to compare Middlesboro to Leslie because of how Leslie played Bell this year is very very inaccurate.
  4. The jackets BETTER NOT over-look Leslie, which I dont think they will. Roark will have his team ready to play as always and middlesboro should win. I think leslie will play middlesboro a lot closer than Breathitt and Corbin did. But I'll leave it up to my other half to make the scoring prediction. It should be a close game with both teams under 30 pts.
  5. CatchMeIfYouCan, stop hatin man, you don't need a D when you can score 57 week-in week-out on teams like Breathitt and Corbin. Who's your team playa?
  6. I think it will be another high scoring game with Middlesboro pulling away late. I'd say a score like 42-28.
  7. No, not trembling, just knowing in the back of their heads that a team from their school hasn't beat us in a decade.
  8. Dragon Pappy, Im not 100% sure of it, but what is Harlans record Vs. Middlesboro over the years???? I may be wrong here but I think the last time Harlan won was in the mid 90's, maybe 96. I think the record shows that Harlan does live in Middlesboro's shadow even tho they are not in in the same class. People around the state, who know nothing about the caliber teams that M'boro and Harlan have would pick Middlesboro in this game. Again my point.
  9. The biggest advantage Middlesboro has is its past record with Harlan. A lot of you may be thinking "why in the heck does it matter what has happened in the past". But im sure some coaches on here and certainly players can admit. When a team has had your number for an extened period of time, you of course hope to beat them, but in the back of your head you think they have an advantage. Harlan all though a very tough team, has lived in Middlesboro's shadow, and this does have an affect with the players envolved in the game. My honest prediction is that it will be a tough hard fought game! That Harlan D is gonna make stuff ugly at first, I think the score at the half will be low, but I think in the 3rd and 4th quarter Middlesboro's depth and speed will take over. I predict 28-14 JACKETS. Middlesboro will score atleast one TD on defense or special teams. Middlesboro could get in trouble though IF... 1. they turn the ball over early 2. Allow Harlan to run the ball and control the clock 3. Let this Harlan team hang around untill late in the 3rd or 4th quarter. To much speed and depth for the Green Dragons to handle, they havn't faced a team like Middlesboro All year.
  10. MIDDLESBORO BIG ! ! ! Harlan is getting ready to play a real football team, with lots of big time players. :flame: Harlan can't stop...Hoskins, Earls, Ford, Adams, Farr, Breeding.
  11. The better team won the football game last night.:sssh: Corbin just isn’t the same type of program that it used to be and I think a lot of Corbin fans still evaluate their teams to that degree. Not that there is anything wrong with high expectations, you should want the best from your team, but I just don’t feel like Corbin has been capable of that type of performance. Do I honestly think Middlesboro will win the class 2a championship, the odds would say no. But I’ve seen on a few posts where Corbin fans have mentioned going to state. I just think there are A LOT of unreal expectations surrounding the redhounds. As an ex Middlesboro football player (graduate of 04) I can offer you all an honest opinion about your team. You guys have an outstanding football coach. There aren’t too many coaches out there that could form a very competitive team like you all have with the lack of athletes. Every time we stepped on the field against Corbin we felt like we had more players with big play capability. We didn’t always win though because Corbin was a SOUND football team. They always did the little things right, they blocked well, they played solid assignment defense, they had great technique, they played the game right and we knew we were in for a battle when we faced Corbin. That’s why I believe you all have a great head coach. Corbin always seemed like the most fundamentally sound team we played, and that’s clearly a reflection of being WELL coached. Back when coach Jewell had players like B.J Folley, Jarrod Lawson, (the other Barton that played LB), Isaac Mills, (that huge RB that played with B.J), B. Hoover, (the huge tackle that went to WKU, you all had very good teams. But last night when I looked at Corbin, I just didn’t see the same caliber team that you all have had in the past. You just don’t seem to have those big name players like you used to. Clint IS a very good high school QB, and you have some WR with sticky hands, but I just don’t see much big play capability, or any stud athletes like the ones you used to have. I think Corbin’s lack of big playmakers is a reflection of your record. Yes I am sure you all are still fundamentally sound, and well coached but at the same time your getting left behind by other high school programs. High school kids are getting bigger, stronger and faster than ever, but I honestly don’t see the athletes at Corbin anymore. There is no doubt in my mind that you all were fundamentally the better team last night, Middlesboro is historically a little sloppy on the fundamentals, but our athleticism prevailed last night. If Corbin wants to return to there previous state of the “big kid on the block” they are going to have to develop better athletically, that’s why I think you all are loosing some of these close games. I am not trying to throw mud or impose that Middlesboro is outstanding; I am just giving an honest opinion as to why I think you all are starting to loose now, more than ever before. Before you respond to this post in anger, really think about it, and some of you may be able to agree with me. I read a lot of your alls posts about what the problem is, and my opinion is simply lack of athleticism.
  12. Middlesboro could score more than they did against Pinville last week. I'd say Middlesboro by 42 at half time and then the younger players play the second half.
  13. Hoskins, Earls, and Ford never saw offensive action in the second half and Middlesboro still put up points with Bowling running for 2 td's.
