  1. Its not for Bell Co. Bell is looking at having to drive 2 to 3 hours to play Casey Co. and Wayne in their district who, no disrespect, but neither are near as good as Bell perennially. But that part is okay. The problem is in the region Bell will have to go to E'town or Central, which are very long trips, probably pushing 4 hrs on a bus. Then if Bell gets past that they may have to drive basically 6 hrs to Paducah Tilghman or Fort Campbell. Those are LONG trips!

Long trips for regional and sectional play should be expected. Did Bell apply to stay in 4A to combat this hardship?

  2. You miss the point. He has done what he said he was going to do and that is what I wanted him to do. What he has done has been good for the country.

Thankfully, there are many people in this country that realize he has done the opposite of what is good for this country. Personally, since we are giving opinions, I prefer that the President of the United States acts like a citizen of the US, and not like a citizen of the world. Why would we want our President to put world interest over the interest of the United States. Why would we want our President to be an apologist? On the home front, why would we want increased government involvement and control when it has been proven to fail time and again around the world?

  3. Can a lineman catch a pass behind the line of scrimmage? I always thought they could but someone told me they changed the rule and only receiver eligible jersey numbers could catch a pass. Could someone that knows please help me out...Thanks!

Must have an eligable number and be lined up in an eligable postition to catch a pass.

  4. Not really. He looks freaking awful 95% of the time. Not many ways around that...

If you agree with that statement, then how was this game lost by anything other than a game coaching decision? Your up on an opponent by seven points with 2:25 left. They have no time outs. It is 3rd and 15. Run the football. Punt on fourth giving them a 1:55 to drive 80-90 yards for a touchdown with no time outs. They had scored one offensive touchdown the entire day. Instead the Bengals throw an INT off the hands of a high dollar reciever, who I will also mention had his hands turned the wrong direction, and eventually lead to a spiral that loses the game in regulation. It is not a competative product, and I am really getting tired of spending $7.75 for a beer to watch this crap at the stadium.

  5. His voting record is public, but do you have any idea what a "present" vote meant in Illinois? If not then don't talk about it. Research it and then get back to us on it.

You spent 5 minutes listening to a part of 2 sermons from Reverend Wright and you think you have a grasp of all of his sermons and teachings? Pull up all of his sermons and spend a week or so listening to them and then get back to us on it.

Government is not a business, and should not be run as such. John Y. Brown tried to do it in Kentucky and set us back many years. See what things he did as a community organizer and what it meant for the people of the community and then why they elected him to the Senate. Once you look it up to see what he did get back to us.

Calling Mr. Beck, Calling Mr. Beck - I don't think he is friends with Bill Ayers, but even if he was that means nothing. Obama was a teenager or younger when Ayers was 'politically' active.

Until then you are only spewing 3 year old attack points that are simply stale.

Your views of the responsibility of government and mine are so different it is hard for me to imagine many political issues that we would ever agree on.

  6. Actually "we" don't understand that.

Like 75 said, as long as "we" don't 100% buy made in America "we" are no different then corporate America. As long as corporate America is having to fork over 40% of their revenue to the federal government they are going to move to other countries. Why, because in the end if they don't make money they won't survive.

There is nothing more American IMO than buying the highest quality product available at the cheapest price, whether it is made in America or not. If we want production in our economy again, maybe we should become a competative labor force. If not, mayber we should make ourselves a viable employee in a labor market that is available in our economy. Either way, American workers have priced themselves out of having unskilled labor jobs.

  7. You have to look at the big picture, and in the big picture, somebody has to travel to the region 1 champ in the odd years for the semifinals. Whether that be Bell or Estill or Garrard, somebody is going to have to do it. There is not enough teams in the west in 3A to guarantee a short drive for a semifinal game. There are so many 3A teams east of Bell that form natural districts, that it leaves Bell kind of out there on an island. It isn't their fault, but it is the hand they are dealt.

Personally, I like the idea of playing all the semifinal games at neutral locations, which would help ease that issue. Games could be combined regionally and played as part of a Fri/Sat event.

Fans need to be willing to travel to semi final games. Travel occurs in every class at this level. Henderson in 2006 had to go to Ryle. I think that arguing against travel for this level of the playoffs is somewhat ridiculous.

  8. How do you know that? If he was your son, would you allow him to play? If it's my son, I don't give a darn what the docs say, he is taking the week off.

I am sure all involved would be willing to listen to your advice once you present credentials that show you to be more qualified than a 5 star concussion specialist.

  9. Apparently, I just don't understand the change in status especially after last weeks game everyone on this thread was saying he should sit out for atleast a week and that it was the worst hit they'd ever seen etc etc. I honestly don't think he'll be nearly as effective if he plays which could only cause more problems for Ryle. As others have harped I would not want to have to give him the ok to play or not because you know he really wants to be a part of this game.

He was cleared by an MRI, a concussion test, and a five star concussion specialist. He is 100% healthy. He is in no way at risk.

  10. But what objective rational was used for constraining of 6A and 1A to 32 teams? This is a significant change. No specific reason or any reason in Tackett's cover letter.

They thought that it would lessen the disparity between ths smallest and largest schools in both classes, since these classes both have the greatest percentage difference in enrollment from top to bottom. It will help a little, but the new system will still have the top in both classes having double the amount of males in the schools over the bottom.

  11. So can anyone say what the goal or goals of this realignment are? Did KHSAA ever say what the goals and objectives are and why this set up will be for the better for KY HS football? Not just the Jefferson County alignments but the class-to-class shuffle as well?

Was grouping 'common' schools a stated goal?

The class to class shuffle is based on enrollment.

  12. The KHSAA will lose money because of putting X and T in the same district. It changes nothing outside of that. You've made Pride Week into the biggest district game of the year...thats all, but why take what could be 200 grand out of your pocket to send T and X into the same district? Poor financial move any way you look at it.

So my question is are you happy that your school will collect the money or are you angry that X and T won't face off in the finals?

  13. Im going to say what many T and X fans already know. The KHSAA is anti T and X. They have been for years. They will be for years to come. Putting X and T in the same district, when CLEARLY it doesn't make geographical sense, is the only way to assure that one doesnt make the State Championship, thus allowing another public school to make it to the championship game to take home the runner up trophy. Kentucky football in general will suffer, and T and X will continue to thrive despite every effort made by the KHSAA governing body to stop them.

Has the KHSAA done anything to stops Highlands dominace of its class? Nope...not one thing.

By putting Male and Manual in T and X's district, you now have made thier schedules more difficult than they already were. Since T and X play an out of state schedule that is off the charts (respect to Manual for thiers as well) you now are preparing the two schools for even bigger dominance.

Great job KHSAA, you continually shoot yourself in the foot because you dont like your shoes. Keep up the fantastic work!

They are six miles away from one another, but it doesn't make geographic sense?

  14. Money is money and since the KHSAA doesn't make a penny on the rivalry during the regular season, they just eliminated this revenue period. As another poster said, the rest of the state teams will be playing for runner up every year versus every other year as it is set up now. I guess that's a victory in the KHSAA's opinion.

Or, just possibly, the KHSAA might not have made its decision based or revenue, but rather based on schools that are geographically close to one another. Is it safe to say that every school in that district is located within twenty miles of one another?

  15. If any of this is true - what a shame.

To attempt to gerrymander these two outstanding programs - and deny one of them (if during any given year they happen to be the No. 1 & 2 team in the state) the opportunity to play in the final game - simply because of recent success is a sad commentary indeed.

Shame on anyone who participated in it.

Yes, shame on two 6A schools that are located six miles apart being in the same district, shame.
