Cogats to the boy's on their trip down south. I must be out of the loop though, I thought their was all NKY players on the roster along with the 3 boys from Rose Hill. Why did they get rid of all the other NKY boys? Was it so they could compete at the state and national level? Just wondering. -
I also heard that the curly headed kid for Atteck dominated the first quarter or so until they put one of the rose hill monsters on him.
-
I wasn't at the game but I have talked to the coach about that weekend and he mentioned that the Rose Hill crew were the real deal and carried that team to all their victories. None of the above frosh played in that game , not that they would have made a difference. bballfanky did you see the game?

I hear there are a group of freshmen coming into Gallatin Co. this year that have some real talent---Zac Jones--prolific scorer, Bryce Carlton-Great court vision and unbelievable handles, Nate Brown-good size and athletic ability, Joel Carlton-great nose for the ball and tenacity, and Jake Giles-scrappy and above average on the ball defender. This group lost a total of 11 games since 6th grade. Couple these boy's with the current varsity roster should make for some good basketball from this northern ky team.

Prayers from Gallatin Co. -
I have heard that there is an allstar game this saturday in lousiville. I think the 5th and 6th regions take on the 7th and 8th. Does anybody have any info on this? Like are all the big name players going to play or are they not because of aau? I've heard that Mike Hester form SK was playing in it. Is he the only kid from nky in it? No-Cody Perkins from Gallatin Co. will be playing in it. The game is Saturday night at Bellermine(or however you spell it), @ 8:00.

Is Wade still on Shelby County's team? The Derek Smith Shootout shows Shelby County was exited by Louisville Central which has been a team struggling this summer. I would say there is some substance to SK being the favored in the 8th. Please don't put any faith in the summer results-- I saw SK get destroyed a couple of times by teams that shouldn't have beat them. Why did they get beat? Because everyone wasn't there. SK will have the best Guard on the floor every time they play. Their bigs will hold their own, but you can't over look Oldham, Shelby and a very very talented South O. -

Well said CURTAIN. Good team but it won't be given to them. They must have forgot about Mr. Chambers and Mr. Wade, not everyday you go against 6-8 and 6-9. -

Walt Allen named Mr. Basketball
Wildcat Legend replied to coachescorner's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I know who votes----I voted and it wasn't for Allen. Great player he was my number 2. Settle down a little "bell", your boy won and that is all that matters. To start over--Great job Mr. Allen on an outstanding career. -

Great Kid, great person and did a great job being a model player and citizen for the state to be proud of. With that said all I mean is "Mr. Basketball" should be given to the best basketball player in the state. Great career Walt--good luck at the next level. As far as your "know soooo much comment", if you knew anything about the process you would know that coaches become the biggest politicians around as soon as they get beat out of the tourney, but thanks for your insight. -

Case and point this year, the best basketball player doesn't always win the award. -

With the exception of a couple of teams at the state tourney, Simon was as good or better than all of them. IMO you can throw every published ranking system out the window because they are nothing but garbage. For example the big two ranking systems had a team I'm really familar with ranked 7 pts below this other team they had beaten 3 out of four times and the loss coming on their floor in o.t. by 3. I'ts all opion biased anyway but I believe the eight at least near the top is very competitive.
