Gas is gas and time is time isn't it? At least thats the greatest complaint folks have had. What makes gas and time more valuable during the state championship? Lets face it folks. People are jealous that the finals could possibly be coming to WKU. Thats the bottom line here IMO. And yes it is convenient for me being from Glasgow. But if the State Championship games were played in Belfry, I'd still haul up and head out! Road Trip!! :ylsuper:

Well, I'm sure if Morehead, EKU, etc... would be in the running for the state title games if they had the proper facilities. Unfortuantely, WKU is the only other stadium in the Commonwealth that can hold the state championships other then UL. Until Eastern Kentucky or Northern Kentucky or Central Kentucky get a 20,000 seat stadium with Turf other than Grass... then go for the bid! Until then, back off! Or better yet! Let's just cancel Football season until Papa Johns is available again.

I've always considered Western Kentucky University to be South Central Kentucky University... Makes more sense. :lol:

Actually you dont even have to take 80. Just take the Cumberland Parkway until you hit I-65. If I remember correctly, the Parkway starts in Somerset?

So much for "true fans" eh? I've seen at least St. X fans travel.. and I really dont think listenership from there fan base will grow any. They seem pretty loyal! I'm sure Trinity, etc... will follow suite.

I'm sorry... But anyone that finds Bowling Green too much of an "inconvenience" can just sit at home. I have no problem with that! Unless your from the Eastern part of the state, I dont think anyone has any right to say anything about "inconvenience".

If it really does go to BG, you'll see more people from around the WKY and South Central Kentucky area attend then you would if it was in Louisville. So maybe it'll almost equal out!

I'd say Monroe will probably win. With Metcalfe plagued with injuries, I'm going with the score of 35-14 Monroe.

WOW! This was def. an instant classic. Larue went up 13-0 early... I mean real early! Like, only been playing the game for 2 min. early. They were up 33-16 at one point and then in the second half the Scotties came back to take the lead 40-33. Larue ties it in the 4th and we go into OT... and Double OT.. where the Hawks eventually win. An exciting game.. but if your Glasgow, you have to be a little dissapointed, but at the same time... They played their butts off to make the comeback. BTW, I love the Larue Co. Fireworks, Fire Truck, and Cannon!

Then where do you suggest that they move the Finals if not PJ or Commonwealth? WKU would do just fine as a back-up to Papa Johns. I still havent seen one GOOD reason why not?

Actually, I think Danville is in the Center of Kentucky. I'm still saying, throw up a big stadium around the Hart Co. and Larue Co. area... then you should have equal distances from EKY, WKY, and NKY... and it's closer to Louisville then BG. Of course no one would actually build a Football Stadium in the middle of no where to play only KHSAA Football Championships... But just for arguing's sake.. I think that area would be the most "equal".

I'm sorry... but could you explain what DOES happen inside this triangle? I've been inside this "Golden Triangle" many a time... and i'm still looking for something to impress me? For entertainment, I lean towards Nashville. But thats a whole other topic... for this sake... BG is a great place to play the State Championships, and I would not be opposed to them being played there. :thumb:

Bowling Green has a ten story building... it's located on WKU's campus. The Pearce-Ford Tower, and it has 27 stories to be exact. So there for, Bowling Green qualifies as a city in your book.

I dont see a problem with the Boys State Championships in Louisville... thats only an hour and a half drive as opposed to a 2 1/2 hour drive! Seriously though, moving the Basketball to Louisville wouldn't be that bad of a deal as long as they moved it back to Rupp every other year. I think that is what FC is getting at.

If you want to talk Cities to Towns... New York City is a City Louisville is a Town Bowling Green is a city... Isn't Louisville considered a Metropolitan since they are "consolidated" with Jefferson County?

Why dont we just build a BIG OL' stadium in Etown, or in Hart County to play the games? That seems to be pretty Central to me.

"If you're in NKY, it's a HUGE argument--as in, double the drive time." Well... is it? Or is it not a HUGE NKY issue? If this isn't a NKY issue, then why does NKY have a HUGE arguement on the move? I'm going to have to side on Rocket and the folks in WKY on this one. Westerners have had to travel for years now the extra length, while the great people of Louisville and NKY haven't had much of a drive. I think the people that should be complaining non-stop are our neighbors to the East. I commend them on taking this issue lightly! :thumb:

I cant really speak for the people of WKY, but I haven't heard anyone scream bloody murder because the games are already 4 hours away in Louisville. We dont really have to worry about the games moving to NKY or EKY, because there is no where to play the games at these places. Even if there was... I would be yelling "Road Trip!".

Not so fast... remember the WKU Renovation? Here is the link: http://www.bgdailynews.com/articles/2007/07/19/news/news1.txt "The renovation will provide 5,000 new seats, along with concessions stands and restrooms, and will also house football offices and locker rooms, a weight room and a training room." They may not be the biggest or the best, but i'm sure they'll serve the purpose well. I'm sure they'll beat the rinky dink locker rooms that you've been it at Western.
