  1. Hazard was overrated last year & again this year as they have benefit of a good draw in the state in 08' good draw in All A this year. I believe the 14th Region has another good draw this year in the state.

North Oldham was clobbered by Elliott last year in the 5th 3rd by 26! I'll stick to my original statement the 8th is weak especially compared to what it used to be. The whole 8th owes the KHSAA big time by having Scott Co move.

How far did they make it in the state tournament? :deadhorse:

  2. Thanks to a great draw

Ill give you the Lincoln County game. But Hazard year in and year out are one of the states top 25's. Last year i think they got up to as high as 8th if I am not mistaken? Hazard ended the year at 31-5. I consider that a very strong victory for the 8th region champs shelby county. Then they lose to the eventual champs Mason county by 10. That looks like a pretty good showing to me.

  3. Notice the trend of Maddox getting fouled? He was given complete and total star treatment all night. Michael Colligan and Collin Gamble both had 0 fouls going into the second half. Owen played a zone, which usually takes away most of the fouls. Maddox and Jones both just lowered their head and jumped into Owen defenders and got fouls called. Gamble and Colligan both fouled out in regualtion. I just don't understand why Maddox gets so many calls...but I guess Jones get so many because Daddy is sitting over there on the bench.

Im going to place a guess and say you are a very irate fan that supports Owen County? I was at the game and I have to say that there were way more no calls down low on both sides of the floor than there were calls. Sandlin and Knoellman (sp?) did a decent job but as for the other ref, he would let felonys go in the backcourt but would call hand checks.

But overall it was a very good game. Both teams fought hard. I also have to give Kudos to Gallatin for making a good comeback to win the game. And as for your last statement, that is completely ridiculous. Zac earns his trips to the charity line. I have never seen a kid get more abused then he does down low. And they do call it "drawing a foul" for a reason...:irked:

  4. Very good points. With last year's and this year's team though, knowing most contracts are always 2 years, I'd think Eckstein would have scheduled a little tougher.

Good to hear Pendleton and Scott will replace Gallatin and Bracken though.

Gallatin was a very good opponent last year. Going 7-4 and hosting a playoff game seems like a good team to me. Maybe Bellevue's coach thought he was playing a Gallatin team of the same caliber. Obviously they are not, but we might have to take that into consideration.

  5. I think its a combination of all three. But mostly it was the poor offense, neither team moved the ball very well and had to rely on there defenses. Walton had a one of the best defensive halfs this year in the first half. Although the second half was a bit different. The backs for GC did what ever they wanted and just out played the Bearcat defense. The Bearcats got a break when GC fumbled the ball on the one yard line but failed to get a drive going. I would like to see these teams play again without a weather factor. If so I think Walton would be the winner by a long shot. The Bearcats didn't show the heart that they have showed every game so far this year and that will not win games. Best of luck to both teams next week. GC plays BB. Walton has their senior night next week as they play Pikeville.

Gc plays at bellevue next week if im not mistaken, then they have BB for the finale.

  6. Wasnt David Bird that one rusher who ran for almost 5,000 yards in his career? He also played LB didnt he? If he didnt get over worked, i dont know who did, is, or ever will be. Im sure that Larry Sullivan can live for the moment and I am absolutely sure, based on past experiences with him in football and basketball, he can handle his workload and he wants to.
