  1. In response to oneijoe, that is offensive to assume that parents who send their kids to JCHS are "settling for good enough." Yes, 20 years ago JCHS was ranked low, but since then Central has been a fabulous school. I know first-hand that Johnson County's academics are VERY strong (Top 20 school district in the state, state and internationally recognized academic team, etc.) and the fact that a high school with quadruple the enrollment and a very much higher number of low-income and special needs students is even close to Paintsville academically says a lot about just how good the Johnson Co. school system and their teachers and administrators are. So, one could argue that if you want your child to have the best education with the best technology, facilities, and opportunities (the number of clubs and sports are vast) then JCHS would be the place to send your child!
  2. The Courier Journal has a few articles today about this tragedy and according to the articles eyewitnesses have come forward with some concerning information about the coaches not allowing water breaks. If true, this is very alarming. I really feel for the family and community.
  3. Does anybody have a link or just the names of who made the CJ all-state team and the BGP all-state team? I would really appreciate it!
  4. Does anyone have any idea who all is playing at Gibson Bay this Saturday?
  5. Does anyone have the final results for teams and individuals for the tourney held at Stonecrest today??:dancingpa
  6. CONGRATS EAGLES! The tide has really turned in Johnson County - this year alone Central has had a great football season, their boys golfers won the region, and now their boys basketball team has also won the region. Not to mention how phenomenal the school is doing academically. Also congrats to the JCHS pep section - I was there all nights of the tourney and it was the classiest and loudest of the bunch. Good luck at Rupp!
