Thank you. I understand that some people have sentimental value in Mom n' Pop shops. But we aren't in the 50's. I don't understand people who just tear apart Wal-Mart for the sake of tearing apart Wal-Mart. Is it convenient to other smaller stores when Wal-Mart rolls into town? Absolutely not. However, the Waltons are in the same business as Mr. and Mrs. Johnson down the street with a corner store: making money.
I know Wal-Mart has their flaws and some things they do may be questionable. However, they truly are an amazing business in my opinion.
I totally agree with your first sentence, couldn't agree more. I don't know enough about either player to pass judgement, so I'll leave that to whoever else. I'll still stick to my original comment in this thread though. Here's to Darius Miller and his career as a Wildcat...
If you're referring to me, I have no bias. I have no dog in this fight, I wish UK could've gotten both of them...who wouldn't. If you're referring to people who think Miller is a better player than Liggins, that's a legit argument whether you're from Mason County or not. It's not like we're comparing a walk-on and a 5-star here.
The bottom line is that if you buy something from a scalper, you're taking a risk. Not being able to be refunded in the case of an extraordinary event is one of those risks. Someone buying tickets from a scalper is not a customer of the SEC (or any SEC school) therefore, it's not the SEC's responsibility to refund them.
In regards to your first paragraph, I never asked a question about that or mentioned anything about the SEC being out money.
Second: The SEC is "ponying up" and they're ready and willing to take the loss for anyone who complies with rules that seem to be pretty simple to me if the tickets were purchased from the primary market.
Your last paragraph: The SEC IS refunding for the PART of the product that wasn't delivered.
If I may interrupt your temper tantrum for just a minute...
The SEC isn't (nor should they be) inclined to provide this service to someone trying to make a buck off of them. They're refunding revenue that they didn't earn to those who can follow the simple procedure that has been laid out.
Football- Call the ticket office, ask to be placed on the mailing list for info on becoming a season ticket holder.
Basketball- Have a ton of money or send a postcard to the ticket office to be placed in the basketball season ticket lottery. The lottery is held every year around September or October and is for 2 upper level seats that are yours until you want to give them up.
Alot of people don't realize how much a "full scholarship" can cover. For instance, a Division I athlete that I know lives in an off-campus apartment (covered by the athletic scholarship_ that is at least $600 a month for rent ...which is alot more than most off-campus residences. And I'm sure that's just one of the many perks. It pays to be talented.
Tickets are $5 and can be bought at the game. You can't buy a reserved seat at the gate (they're all sold as season tickets) but the GA seats are still good seats.
No confusion. This is neither here nor there but I see no need for the string of condescending posts in response to us little peon UK fans who are just relaying things we've been heard about this "national tragedy".
